The anime Naruto features five major ninja nations, each governed by a powerful leader called a Kage. The world is filled with countless ninjas – perhaps as many as stars in the sky – but only a select few become truly famous. This is usually due to their incredible strength, which sets them apart. Though many ninjas become powerful, very few are capable of single-handedly destroying entire countries.

I’ve seen forces capable of overwhelming entire countries, and their power is truly unmatched. What’s even more striking is how incredibly strong – and sometimes unfairly so – some of their abilities are. There aren’t many of them, but I’ve identified a small group who could single-handedly destroy a nation.

7. Kaguya Otsutsuki

Kaguya is widely considered the most powerful being in the Naruto world. She wields the incredible power of the Ten-Tails, amplified by her unique ancestry. Her chakra reserves are massive, surpassing even Naruto’s, and she has a vast array of devastating abilities. Many of these attacks are capable of instantly defeating anyone, with her most potent ability – the Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball – being strong enough to obliterate entire universes. Compared to that, destroying a country would be effortless for her.

6. Hagoromo Otsutsuki

Wow, Hagoromo is just incredible! He’s the one who actually built the Ninja World, and everyone looked up to him for everything he did. Seriously, he and his brother teamed up to defeat Kaguya – talk about a powerful duo! No one could ever match his skills throughout his whole life; people basically saw him as a god, and rightfully so! The sheer number of jutsu he knew was insane – he could take down the Ten-Tails without even breaking a sweat, let alone a whole country! He was truly one of a kind.

The Ten-Tails was an incredibly powerful creature, living up to its reputation as a devastating force. As the strongest of the Tailed Beasts, it was a terrifying reality, easily overwhelming the entire Shinobi Alliance. Nothing they did seemed to work against it. The Ten-Tails could single-handedly cause massive disasters and even destroy a whole country with just one attack.

4. Madara Uchiha

Madara is a hugely popular and formidable villain in the series. He became incredibly powerful, essentially a god, by merging with the Ten-Tails and absorbing the God Tree. He was such a dangerous opponent that it required the combined strength of Naruto and Sasuke to defeat him. Madara has a vast array of powerful techniques, some capable of destroying entire mountains or even nations with a single move, like his devastating Heaven Concealed jutsu.

3. Naruto Uzumaki

Clan: Uzumaki Clan

Naruto had a difficult start in life, growing up without much support. However, he refused to be defeated by these challenges and worked incredibly hard to become one of the strongest warriors ever. He learned powerful techniques like Sage Mode and Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, which helped him defeat even the most formidable enemies. Naruto’s immense chakra reserves meant he could perform incredibly powerful attacks, strong enough to obliterate something as massive as a forest, or even destroy an entire country.

2. Hashirama Senju

Hashirama was incredibly strong, far surpassing even his rival Madara in terms of pure power. He specialized in Wood Style techniques, allowing him to create widespread destruction and effortlessly control even the most powerful Tailed Beasts. His greatest ability was Sage Mode, which enabled him to perform incredibly powerful jutsu, like Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands. This technique allowed him to easily defeat the Nine-Tails, even when it was enhanced with the powerful Susanoo, demonstrating his overwhelming strength.

While both are strong fighters, Sasuke has a wider range of skills and techniques than Naruto, including teleportation and the devastating Amaterasu. Amaterasu is so powerful it can easily destroy anything in its path, making his other abilities almost unnecessary.
