The anime series Naruto concluded more than a decade ago, yet remains incredibly influential. Its enduring impact can be seen in its official follow-up, Boruto. Though Boruto might not resonate with every Naruto fan, it has successfully attracted a dedicated audience and appears to be gaining even greater popularity now.
One reason why Naruto continues to captivate audiences despite the conclusion of both its manga and anime is likely due to its widespread availability across numerous popular streaming platforms. In contrast to many other series, accessibility often becomes scarce as they age. Yet, in the case of Naruto, it has become increasingly simpler to discover, even on services that don’t have an extensive library of anime titles.
Naruto’s Special Surprise on Google
The official site has just been updated with some exciting news: Naruto has teamed up with Google to commemorate its 24th anniversary! This celebration kicked off on September 21, 2024 – a significant date marking exactly 25 years since the first manga chapter was published. The festivities are expected to continue until around September 2025.
As reported on the site, a hidden feature known as an Easter egg has been found on Google for individuals searching for “Naruto”. Enthusiasts swiftly detected it and shared their findings across various social media platforms. Essentially, by clicking on the icon of Konoha, you can enjoy a 2D animation depicting Naruto running.
There is no information about how long this Easter egg will be available on the search engine.
Naruto’s 4 Upcoming Special Episode Release Window
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime (spanning from 2002 to 2017, including Shippuden), it was initially announced that four special episodes would premiere in September 2023. The early promotional materials hinted that these episodes would be set during the original Naruto series, not Shippuden. However, these episodes have since been delayed, and no new release date has been officially disclosed as of now. Since there was minimal promotional activity at the time, some fans speculated that the producers wanted additional time to effectively market the show.
This year, with the franchise reaching its 25th anniversary, fans have been anticipating a release later on. However, whispers hint towards an “early 2025” debut – these speculations stem from documents unveiled by TV Tokyo. The episodes are said to be overseen by creator Masashi Kishimoto. With Studio Pierrot attending AnimeJapan 2025 in March’s end, there’s optimism that fresh details might be disclosed during the event.
The partnership with Google demonstrates that rights holders are continuing to market the franchise, which may be a sign of preparations for upcoming episodes. Fans worldwide anticipate these episodes and likely expect them to be streamed globally. Most likely, major players have been in negotiations over the miniseries. In 2023, ADN was the sole distributor to announce acquiring the series (only in France). Following the completion of Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War and the airing of new Naruto content, there is a strong possibility that Pierrot will resume working on Boruto.
Both “Naruto” and “Naruto Shippuden” can be streamed on platforms like Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, as well as numerous other online streaming services.
