Naruto: How Naruto Evolved After The Fourth Great Ninja War, Explained

This article contains spoilers from the Naruto series.

Summary

  • Naruto forged a bond with Kurama, gaining access to his power without restrictions.
  • The Sage of Six Paths granted Naruto powers, pushing him to a new level.
  • Naruto continued to grow after the war, gaining further powers and showing significant development.

In the popular anime series “Naruto“, the title character, Naruto Uzumaki, underwent remarkable personal development over time. Often referred to as a ninja without any special abilities, Naruto had to overcome significant challenges to reach his current position. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto demonstrated exceptional growth and pushed himself to extraordinary heights. Yet, this was not his ultimate achievement.

Over time during the great war and beyond, Naruto consistently expanded in abilities and strength. His prowess as a ninja, coupled with maturity, flourished remarkably post-war. What started as the world’s savior, eventually evolved into realizing his dream – becoming the esteemed Hokage of Konoha. Despite the story reaching its conclusion after the Fourth Great Ninja War, it’s essential to remember that Naruto’s growth is far from stagnant. In fact, the young man with the iconic yellow hair continues to evolve and progress significantly.

Naruto’s Growth In The Fourth Great Ninja War

  • Naruto Forged A Bond With Kurama
  • The Sage Of Six Paths Gave Naruto Powers

Over time, Naruto Uzumaki has significantly grown in strength and it’s safe to say his accomplishments have been extraordinary. Despite carrying Kurama within him, Naruto persevered towards greatness despite being rejected by many. With the beast threatening to seize control of his body, Naruto had no other choice but to cultivate his own power. He demonstrated this when he created the Rasenshuriken and later mastered the power of Sage Mode. To push things even further, Naruto confronted the Nine Tails within him and earned the privilege to claim a portion of its chakra for himself. It’s indisputable that he achieved all this on his own, although he had allies by his side throughout the journey. However, Naruto’s most significant power-ups occurred during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

When Naruto assisted and befriended the Tailed Beasts, it was then that he established a deep connection with Kurama, his personal Tailed Beast. With this bond in place, Naruto could harness Kurama’s power fully without any limitations on its use, propelling him to an entirely new level of strength. Enhancing this ability with Sage Mode made him even more powerful. Yet, despite this immense power, it wasn’t sufficient for Naruto to achieve his ultimate potential.

Upon encountering Hagoromo Otsutsuki, I witnessed Naruto Uzumaki receiving a portion of his godly powers, granting him the Six Paths Sage Mode. This transformation elevated Naruto to an almost divine level, enabling him to engage in combat with formidable opponents such as Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki during the war. However, the most astonishing aspect was that even after the war’s end, Naruto continued to grow, a development that left many in awe.

How Naruto Continued To Grow After The Fourth Great Ninja War

Naruto Gained Further Powers

After the end of the war, Naruto Uzumaki experienced numerous growths in his abilities. For instance, during the conflict, Naruto didn’t possess the full might of Kurama. Initially, half of it was within Madara and later Kaguya, but eventually, Sasuke sealed away that portion. It wasn’t until Sasuke Uchiha’s defeat that Naruto reclaimed the other half of Kurama, effectively obtaining the complete Tailed Beast. It’s essential to note that the half of Kurama already capable of dominating five or more Tailed Beasts in battle significantly amplified Naruto’s powers to extraordinary heights upon his acquisition of the full form.

After losing a hand, Naruto Uzumaki obtained a Hashirama cell prosthetic, which is known for enhancing chakra and recovery abilities. While the enhancement wasn’t substantial for Naruto due to his Uzumaki lineage, every little bit helps. Additionally, as fans may not realize, Naruto also gained access to all five nature transformations and possesses Hashirama cells, potentially allowing him to utilize Wood Release after the Great Ninja War. These power-ups were significant for Naruto Uzumaki following the Fourth Great Ninja War, although many fans might not notice them. By the time of The Last: Naruto the Movie, Naruto had advanced to such a high level that he could withstand an attack powerful enough to shatter the moon and defeat someone as strong as Toneri Otsutsuki with a single punch, even when most of his powers were depleted.

Indeed, Naruto’s Taijutsu abilities soared post-war to an extent that he was capable of matching Momoshiki Otsutsuki, even after his fusion with Kinshiki, without resorting to his Six Paths Sage Mode. Furthermore, he tested Jigen to the utmost limit and, with Baryon Mode activated, gave Isshiki Otsutsuki a run for his money.

Boruto And The Misfortune It Brought With It

Boruto Stripped The Power Of Kurama From Him

Regrettably, Naruto Uzumaki’s journey in Boruto series has been marked by a series of unfortunate events. Initially, his immense powers were evident, but over time, these powers seem to have diminished or become unavailable for unexplained reasons. The narrative appears to undermine Naruto, and with each passing moment, his fortunes appear to decline. He’s been stripped of half his powers without a clear explanation. To add insult to injury, he lost the power of Kurama after using Baryon Mode and was left with only Sage Mode, despite the expectation that he would still have access to other Tailed Beasts’ powers.

In a turn of events that left fans disheartened, Naruto Uzumaki found himself sealed away by Kawaki, deemed incapable of protecting himself. This move was seen as disrespectful towards the beloved character Naruto Uzumaki, and it appears the original creator, Kishimoto, is not overly concerned. Currently, Naruto remains trapped within the dimension of Daikokuten, with no clear indication of his release anytime soon. Fans eagerly await his return, but uncertainty lingers as to when, or even if, he will be free again. Ideally, the authors will rectify their handling of his character, though given their previous actions, such a resolution seems unlikely.

As an observer, I can share that the captivating manga series, Boruto, is now accessible through Viz Media. Fans can enjoy this official and complimentary read on both the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus app. Mark your calendars, as the next chapter, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 19, is scheduled for release on February 20, 2025.
