Naruto: Kishimoto Reveals The Strongest Ninja Village, And It Isn’t Konoha

In the realm of Naruto, the foundation was laid by brave ninjas who endured fierce battles, often at great cost, to secure their existence. Fortunately, the violent period in Naruto came to a close when Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha established Konohagakure, the first ninja village, marking an end to the era of bloodshed.

In a similar fashion, additional ninja villages emerged, with Konoha, Kumo, Iwa, Suna, and Kiri being the most prominent among them. Historically, Konoha has been the strongest village, but the distribution of power is always changing. At present, it appears that another village holds the greatest power in the Naruto universe, particularly following the decline of Naruto and Sasuke.

Ever since the establishment of the ninja villages, the balance of power has experienced frequent shifts. To ensure a steady equilibrium among the villages, the distribution of Tailed Beasts was overseen by Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. It’s not surprising that Konoha held onto Kurama, the strongest Tailed Beast. However, the other villages also grew stronger over time.

Let’s name the village Konohagakure. — Madara Uchiha

During the tenure of their Third Hokage, who was old and frail, Konoha found itself in a vulnerable position after the demise of the Fourth Hokage. Moreover, the Ninetails (Kurama) wasn’t under control either. At this critical juncture, Kumogakure, being in possession of Killer Bee, an exemplary Jinchuriki, and Lightning Ay, a formidable fighter capable of subduing tailed beasts, stood ready to lend assistance.

After Pain’s assault, Konoha grew increasingly weaker, with Sasuke’s departure adding to its vulnerability. However, the Fourth Great Ninja War ultimately strengthened Konoha to unprecedented heights as Naruto and Sasuke attained divine power levels within it.

Kumogakure Is The Strongest Village Right Now

Kumo Has Advanced Technique To Destroy Planets

In the era of Boruto, it may appear that Konoha is the strongest, but interestingly enough, Kumogakure currently holds a more advantageous position. This shift is primarily due to two key factors. Firstly, the absence of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. Naruto has been sealed away, leaving Shikamaru Nara as the leader. The village’s most powerful Tailed Beast, Kurama, is now just a baby, far from its full potential. Sasuke, on the other hand, has transformed into a tree and no longer serves as a formidable protector for Konoha.

Secondly, Boruto Uzumaki himself, Naruto’s son, was expelled from the village. While he does protect it, he is not officially a member of Konoha. Hence, the once powerful trio that was synonymous with Konoha’s strength is now absent or compromised, leaving Kumogakure to potentially seize the advantage.

Simultaneously, it’s been demonstrated that Kumogakure has made significant progress, even possessing the capability to destructively launch a chakra cannon capable of moon destruction, as revealed in “The Last: Naruto The Movie”. It is believed that such power could potentially obliterate a planet. In contrast, Konoha seems yet to develop planet-busting technology. Considering Kumogakure’s destructive capabilities extend to the moon and possibly beyond, it’s intriguing to ponder what kind of weapons they might wield against something as modest as a ninja village.

Kumo Could’ve Advanced Further

It’s worth noting that the chakra cannon used by Kumogakure dates back over a decade. With technological advancements since then, it’s plausible that if Kumogakure has kept pace, they may now possess weapons of catastrophic power, potentially capable of challenging even divine entities like the Otsutsuki. This reasoning aligns with their past battles, such as against Madara, where they would have needed to develop powerful technology to confront such formidable threats. As a result, while Konoha may boast stronger ninjas, in terms of technology, Kumo might already possess the capability to obliterate planets or even more.
