Naruto: Sasuke Was Stronger Than Naruto In The End, And Here’s Why

The long-running series Naruto wrapped up some time ago, yet its impact endures, and now we have a continuation called Boruto. Though many fans aren’t fond of the official follow-up, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been an exciting new chapter in the fantastic world dreamed up by Masashi Kishimoto.

Despite the passage of time, a long-standing debate persists, one that has been ongoing since the story’s inception: whether Naruto Uzumaki or Sasuke Uchiha is the more powerful character. Though both possess immense strength, there are compelling arguments suggesting that Sasuke may hold the upper hand.

Sage Mode Is Hard to Beat

In the finale of Naruto Shippuden, both Naruto and Sasuke exhibit immense strength. However, it’s worth noting that Naruto’s power significantly surpasses Sasuke’s due to his alliance with Kurama and the Six Path Sage Mode, which enhances his abilities even further. Given this, it’s widely believed among fans that Naruto outmatches Sasuke in terms of raw physical strength throughout their journey. In fact, some argue that the gap between their strengths is quite substantial at the story’s end.

Although their argument has a degree of logic, it appears that fans occasionally focus exclusively on physical power when assessing Sasuke and Naruto. The truth is, they excel in various aspects, and their fighting methods significantly differ from one another.

Sasuke’s Rinnegan Gives Him the Upper Hand

Due to his Uchiha ancestry, Sasuke managed to activate the Sharingan. Over time, he activated the Mangekyo Sharingan, acquired the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and ultimately even the Rinnegan. This empowered Sasuke with a diverse array of jutsu choices in combat, many of which are potent genjutsu. Additionally, he mastered and improved the Susanoo, one of the most powerful abilities associated with his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Essentially, Sasuke’s fighting styles are more finely tuned compared to Naruto’s. Although this doesn’t guarantee that he is stronger, it provides him with a broader arsenal to counter various types of adversaries. The Chidori and its modifications, showcased in battles, exemplify how adaptable Sasuke can be and his ability to reinvent himself on the battlefield.

Who Is Stronger In Boruto?

Masashi Kishimoto has shared that at the onset of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations,” Sasuke and Naruto were equally matched. Over time, though, both characters have experienced a decrease in their powers. Kurama gave up his life, only to be reborn within Himawari Uzumaki, while Sasuke lost his Rinnegan. Some fans speculate that he may regain it at some point.

It appears that Sasuke was functioning better than Naruto before he got engulfed by a Claw Grime, leading to the creation of a Human God Tree. The narrative hasn’t provided much detail about what transpired during the time skip or prior to his absorption, but it’s evident in his fight against Code that he has grown stronger. In any case, when they resurface in the story, it seems plausible that both characters will receive a boost in power and exhibit remarkable new abilities.

When Will They Return in Boruto?

Currently, it’s uncertain when Sasuke and Naruto will make their reappearance. Sasuke’s return depends on the defeat of Hidari, possibly by Sarada Uchiha. As for Naruto, he was sealed away by Kawaki, so his return could occur either by breaking the seal or if Kawaki releases him for some unknown reason. There is also a speculation that Eida might compel Naruto to come back at some point.

It appears that Konohamaru’s Team 7 will likely require more time to vanquish the Shinju Clones, meaning Sasuke’s return may be delayed. As for Naruto, his reappearance could take an extended period, given that he might not show up until Boruto and Kawaki have resolved their conflicts. However, when it comes to teaming up against the Otsutsuki clan, neither Naruto nor Sasuke’s strength will hold much significance in the end.
