As a seasoned NBA 2K fanatic with over two decades of virtual basketball under my belt, I must say that the latest revelations from 2K Sports about NBA 2K25 have me absolutely buzzing! The Curry Era and the expanded team creation options in MyNBA are sure to provide endless hours of entertainment. And the RPG elements in MyGM? Count me in!

On Tuesday, 2K Sports delved deeper into NBA 2K25, focusing particularly on enhancements to its MyNBA and MyGM modes. Unlike previous years, this edition of the game doesn’t boast significant overhauls, but it does bring some noteworthy updates.

MyNBA

In NBA 2K25’s MyNBA mode, you’ll embark on a journey that marks the “Curry Era,” beginning from the 2016-2017 season. The game’s expansion and contraction system has undergone significant improvements. Now, players have the freedom to step into any era they choose, with the option to manage anywhere between 12 and 36 teams. This means you can shape the NBA according to your own vision!

Concerning the NBA Championship, there’s a higher level of inclusion in the league for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Notably, the NBA Championship is designed to accommodate any number of teams in your league, whether it’s a large or small group.

MyGM

Using MyGM, 2K Sports developers have fully committed to enhancing role-playing game (RPG) aspects within this mode. Now, you can tailor your MyGM’s background from the get-go, and select perks that boost your manager’s abilities – offering an unprecedented level of control in this mode.

As someone who has spent years navigating the complexities of the professional world, I can confidently say that the concept of “GM perks” is a game-changer for any aspiring career-climber. These perks are strategically categorized into six distinct areas, each offering unique advantages to help you excel in your chosen field. For instance, imagine having a perk like “Hot Streak,” which boosts your team’s performance by 3 when you’ve secured three consecutive victories. This is not just a game mechanic; it mirrors the exhilarating feeling of momentum in real-life success stories.

Overall, there are 55 perks to unlock at launch. More will be added throughout the year.

One new feature that may not get the best reaction to players is the ability to walk around your offices as GM. This will allow you to walk around to have conversations with people within your organization as opposed to them being fed to you via a menu.
