Neighbors: Suburban Warfare announced, is a PvP multiplayer title

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for quirky and competitive multiplayer games, the announcement of Neighbors: Suburban Warfare has me absolutely thrilled! Having lived through various neighborhood dramas myself, I can’t wait to settle my differences, or create some new ones, in this suburban battlefield.

In the aftermath of “The Spill,” game developer Invisible Walls unveiled a fresh PvP multiplayer game titled Neighbors: Suburban Warfare. As the press release for this announcement notes, “Have you ever had issues with your neighbor? If so, Danish developer Invisible Walls has a solution – let off some steam in a new multiplayer chaos by resolving those differences.

It appears the game will be released shortly, and it looks like there will be opportunities for community members to participate in playtests. To take part, make sure you’re a member of the official Discord server.

Neighbors: Suburban Warfare unfolds in the seemingly peaceful suburban town of Heartsville. Beneath the surface tranquility, simmering tensions between residents run high. Players can choose from an array of diverse neighbors, including Doreen, the ever-cheerful elderly lady, and Kevin, the neighborhood troublemaker, each possessing unique skills and items.

After selecting a neighbor, players will appear at one of five distinct homes, each with its own blend of advantages and disadvantages. Players can emerge victorious by amassing resources to enhance their weapons and homes, eventually destroying the dwellings of their rivals.

Here’s some of the key features from the announcement press release:

  • 8x Selectable Neighbours to choose from, each with a unique ability, item and aesthetics that personify light-hearted neighbour stereotypes (with more neighbours to come)
  • Attacking your neighbour’s house using a wide range of tools of destruction including but not limited to: frying pans, slingshots, vacuum cleaners and golf clubs
  • Reinforcing your own house through clever use of planks, traps and other inventions you can barricade your house and build your own fortress with your friends taking down any unwanted intruders
  • Endless replayability through a combination of ranged and melee attacks, further reinforced by unlocking perks and hobbies for each neighbour, as well as a closetful of ridiculous, colourful cosmetics

David Jean Heldager, CEO at Invisible Walls, shares their enthusiasm about a project they’ve been developing for over three years: “Neighbors: Suburban Warfare”! This multiplayer game offers an enjoyable chaos, but it truly shines when players collaborate and communicate. We’ve spent countless hours playing it internally and have always found new ways to have fun. If you’re interested in joining the action, don’t hesitate to join our Discord server for community playtests or add the game to your Steam wishlist!

Neighbors: Suburban Warfare is coming soon.
