Netflix has revealed a new FIFA video game. Subscribers will be able to play it for free. The game is being developed by a studio that previously worked on 007 First Light.
It’s been just over three years since the last game with the FIFA name was released in September 2022. EA Sports and FIFA ended their nearly 30-year partnership later that year, leading EA Sports to rename its popular soccer video game series EA Sports FC. The servers for FIFA 23 were shut down in October 2025, signaling the end of the original series. FIFA announced in May 2023 that they would continue to make officially licensed video games, but they didn’t share any specific plans at that time.
Netflix and Delphi Interactive Announce First Post-EA Era FIFA Game
Netflix
Netflix is creating a new FIFA game, developed by Delphi Interactive, that’s expected to launch in 2026. It will be available on Android and iOS devices, and also on some smart TVs – though you’ll likely need your smartphone to play on the TV. The mobile version might also support game controllers. With the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicking off on June 11th in the US, Mexico, and Canada, Netflix might release the game before the tournament to take advantage of the excitement.
New FIFA Game Is Being Made by 007 First Light Co-Developer
Delphi Interactive, a company based in Beverly Hills, California, hasn’t launched a game on its own since it was founded in 2020. However, they were previously announced as a development partner on IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. The action-adventure title, set to release on March 26, 2026, credits Delphi Interactive as the only associate developer on platforms like the PlayStation Store, Steam, and IO Interactive’s website. Interestingly, the game’s listing on the Xbox Store doesn’t mention Delphi Interactive at all.
We aim to create the most enjoyable, easy-to-learn, and internationally popular football game ever – that’s our core goal.
Netflix’s New Title Will Be the First FIFA Game Not Published by EA Sports
The upcoming game will be the first FIFA title not published by EA Sports. Netflix is listed as the publisher, but their role appears to be primarily funding the FIFA license – something EA stopped paying for due to its high cost. EA had been paying around $150 million a year for the FIFA name, but FIFA wanted $1 billion for a new four-year deal in 2021, which would have been a 66% increase in annual licensing fees.
