Netflix Releases Trailers for Cyberpunk, Devil May Cry and More

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must admit that this year’s Geeked Week 2024 has left me utterly thrilled! The announcements of animated adaptations for gaming franchises like Cyberpunk, Devil May Cry, and Splinter Cell have sent my heart racing.

During Geeked Week 2024, Netflix unveiled plans to produce animated versions based on some well-known video game series like Cyberpunk, Devil May Cry, and Splinter Cell.

2024 marked the initial in-person gathering known as Geeked Week 2024, and during this event, we received numerous updates on upcoming Netflix TV shows, films, and games. For gaming enthusiasts, some of the most exciting announcements included sneak peeks at new animated trailers for the unnamed collaboration between Netflix and CDPR, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, and Devil May Cry.

For the Netflix-Cyberpunk partnership, gamers were given a brief 20-second teaser with the message, “Back to Night City.” Conversely, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch unveiled an extensive trailer. Additionally, the Ubisoft Film and Television initiative announced that Liev Schreiber, known for his role in Wolverine Origins, will take on the character of series lead, Sam Fisher.

At this year’s Netflix Geeked event in 2024, we learned the most about an upcoming animated series titled Devil May Cry. Adi Shankar, who previously worked on Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix as the showrunner, will now serve as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer for this forthcoming Capcom production.

The storyline revolves around Dante, a mercenary who hunts demons and whose mission is to eliminate every demon, seeking revenge for the death of his mother. This action-packed series, Devil May Cry, is scheduled to debut on Netflix in April 2025.
