Netflix Set To Buy Warner Bros In 2026

Netflix has agreed to purchase Warner Bros. in 2026, following weeks of negotiations. The acquisition will happen after Warner Bros. Discovery finishes dividing into two distinct companies.

Netflix announced on Friday that it’s buying the streaming and studio operations of Warner Bros. Discovery for $82.7 billion. This includes Warner Bros. Games, bringing game developers like NetherRealm (Mortal Kombat), Rocksteady (Batman: Arkham), TT Games (LEGO games), and Avalanche under the Netflix Games division.

UPDATE 8:35 am ET: Netflix has confirmed that it will include Warner Bros. Games

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced today that the company is bringing together two major entertainment companies to offer more people the shows and movies they enjoy most.

Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters stated that this purchase will strengthen what they offer viewers and help the company grow for many years.

Because we operate worldwide and have a successful business strategy, we can help more people discover the content our creators make. This means more choices for our members, a larger audience for our excellent streaming service, a stronger entertainment industry overall, and increased benefits for our investors.

The agreement covers a complete takeover of Warner Bros., and that name will be used for the company’s streaming and studio operations. However, the official announcement didn’t say anything about what will happen with the games division.

TopMob has contacted Warner Bros. and Netflix to ask about their plans for their gaming businesses. We will update this article if we receive a reply from either company.
