According to a new report from Nexus Point News – a source known for accurately leaking information about upcoming game adaptations like God of War and Elden Ring – the Netflix series based on Assassin’s Creed will be set in Ancient Rome. Sources say the show will take place between 54 and 68 AD, during the reign of Emperor Nero, and will feature both Nero and his advisor, Seneca. The fact that filming is happening in Italy seems to support this claim.
The report suggests Toby Wallace will be part of a large cast with several main characters. However, neither Ubisoft nor Netflix has officially confirmed this information, so it’s best to view it as unconfirmed speculation. Despite this, fans have long requested a game set in Ancient Rome. If the report is accurate, it seems the show won’t actually be a game adaptation set in that era, but rather an entirely new story – which is a bit of a gamble. Still, it will be fascinating to see how the series develops.
