Netflix’s Multiplayer Squid Game Title Gets 2024 Release Window

As a dedicated fan of both Netflix and Squid Game, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that the streaming giant is planning to release a video game adaptation of the hit series later this year! I’ve been hooked on Squid Game since its debut, and the thought of immersing myself in the game’s world is simply thrilling. The idea of playing as Gi-hun and experiencing his journey anew, especially with the upcoming second season still without a release date, is an enticing prospect.

In a letter to investors about the company’s second-quarter profits, Netflix announced that the video game version of Squid Game is set to be released “before the end of the year.”

The letter provides more information that the multiplayer game will launch together with the debut of Squid Game’s next season on television.

As a devoted fan, I’m excitedly anticipating the second season of “Squid Game” on Netflix. Yet, unfortunately, a definite release date for the new episodes remains elusive at this moment. Consequently, there’s no firm timeline for the upcoming video game based on the show. However, we do know that the game is intended to drop by the end of the year. In the second season, our beloved protagonist Gi-hun decides to abandon his plans to emigrate to America instead.

In the same communique, Netflix provided more details about its distinct lineup for video games. This included updates on interactive titles for Netflix Storylines. The company announced that they will be releasing approximately one new game each month starting from July, similar to the releases of shows like Emily in Paris and Selling Sunset.

In December 2023, Netflix announced its bold entry into the gaming industry with approximately 90 games under development.

Many avid gamers might be unaware that Netflix provides gaming content. Yet, the recent report suggests that the platform’s Grand Theft Auto Trilogy has racked up an impressive 30 million downloads in the past month alone.

Netflix will soon be offering a selection of shows inspired by video games. Among these are the upcoming animated “Tomb Raider” series featuring Hayley Atwell, and the “Minecraft” animation, which is distinct from the live-action film currently generating buzz for its supposedly eerie aesthetic.
