According to a recent report, Crash Bandicoot could be getting his own animated series on Netflix. The beloved orange marsupial, who first became popular in the early 1990s, might be making a comeback for a new generation of fans.
The Crash Bandicoot franchise, developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, has seen a recent comeback with games like Crash Team Rumble and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Although no new games have been officially announced, a recent report suggests a new animated TV series is being developed at Netflix, with the creators of Sonic Prime leading the project.
An Animated Crash Bandicoot Series Possibly in the Works at Netflix and WildBrain

What’s On Netflix reports that a Crash Bandicoot animated series is in the works at Netflix. The series is being produced by WildBrain Studios, the team behind Sonic Prime, as well as shows like Johnny Test, The Snoopy Show, and Carmen Sandiego. Details like who will voice the characters or when it will be released are currently unknown, so this information should be considered unconfirmed. TopMob has contacted Netflix for comment, but hasn’t received a response yet.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement, fans have been requesting a new Crash Bandicoot series for years, with attempts even made as recently as 2021 by Amazon. Interestingly, when the first Crash Bandicoot game was made in 1997, Universal Animation Studios created animated intro and outro sequences hoping to launch a TV show – but it never happened, though the animation did surface on YouTube in 2015. Aside from that, Crash made a brief appearance as a cameo in Netflix’s Skylanders Academy, voiced by Rhys Darby of Our Flag Means Death.
Regardless of recent rumors, Crash Bandicoot would be perfect as an animated series. The game’s fun, over-the-top world and vibrant characters would look fantastic in motion. With Mario and Sonic already having their own shows, it feels like the right time for Crash to get the same treatment. Hopefully, this could pave the way for adaptations of other classic platforming mascots like Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie too!
