A recent update to The Sims 4 has added several free items for players to use in the game. Best of all, these items are available to everyone, even those playing the base game without any expansion packs.
EA has announced that they’ll continue to update The Sims 4 instead of making a new sequel right away, but they’re also hinting at future Sims games. The biggest news is Project Rene, which will be a Sims game for mobile devices that you can play with others. EA also plans to release a range of new Sims games for computers and consoles, though they haven’t shared specific details yet.
The Sims 4 Update Adds 9 Free Items You Can Get Now
On January 13th, The Sims 4 was updated with a new collection of clothing and furniture called The Coach Collection. Inspired by the luxury fashion brand Coach, the update adds six new articles of clothing – including sneakers, jackets, a skirt, jeans, and a t-shirt – all based on real Coach designs. Three new build/buy items were also added. Each item features multiple color and style options mirroring current looks available from Coach.
In addition to the new content, Sims 4 players can decorate their Sims’ homes with the Coach Tabby bag, Brooklyn bag, and a heritage Coach Trunk. The trunk isn’t just for display—it also works like the costume trunk from the Lovestruck expansion pack. When Sims use it, they can choose from three pre-designed Coach outfits—Confident, Flirty, and Playful—each giving their Sim a different positive mood boost.
Coach Collection Adds Freebies to Gallery
via The Sims 4 This update also brings two new free items to the Sims 4 Gallery. Players can download the “In The Bag” room, a detailed space designed to display Coach bags and trunks, which is perfect for taking photos. Also available is The Carriage House, complete with three pre-made Sims ready to move in. Both items are free to download, but you’ll need to add them to your game manually.
Looking to The Sims’ Future
Image via EA Fans are enjoying the latest fashion collection for The Sims, and even more content is on the way! Details about the next expansion pack for The Sims 4, titled Royalty and Legacy, have emerged after it received a rating. This new pack will let players transform their Sims into royalty and create lasting family legacies. While rumors suggest it will be released in February, there’s no official confirmation yet.
There’s some disappointing news for fans of The Sims franchise. The Sims Mobile is being discontinued and will no longer be available after January 20th. While it’s not a direct replacement, players might enjoy The Sims FreePlay, another mobile game in the series that’s still active. Eventually, Project Rene is expected to offer a similar experience, but its release date hasn’t been announced yet.
