Although specifics are still scarce, it’s been confirmed that the new game mode was announced during the unveiling of Battlefield 6 in July. What has been disclosed so far is that there will be a conventional Battle Royale mode and a more competitive mode named Gauntlet.
The upcoming Battle Royale mode, though not releasing at the same time as the game, will be free to play and marks EA’s competition against Call of Duty Warzone. TopMob first broke the news about this mode back in early 2024. Although the footage shown is fresh, it’s not the only leak concerning the mode that has surfaced online. In recent times, gameplay clips, points of interest, and the map have all been leaked, albeit each was removed from the internet within a few hours.
In simple terms, the much-anticipated release of Battlefield 6 will occur on October 10, and it will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Unfortunately for Nintendo Switch 2 users, the game’s creator Vince Zampella has stated that at this time there are no intentions to make the game compatible with the new system, as Electronic Arts is primarily targeting platforms where the “main Battlefield fanbase” prefers to play.
