New Battlefield Game Being Developed By 4 Studios

As a long-time Battlefield fanatic who’s seen the ebb and flow of this iconic series over the years, I must say, four studios working on the new Battlefield game feels like a dream come true! With DICE handling multiplayer, Motive tackling the single player, Criterion Games lending their expertise to both, and Ripple Effect cooking up something fresh – it’s a recipe for an epic gaming experience that’ll make Battlefield 205 (or whatever they decide to call it) unforgettable.

Instead of just Electronic Arts’ DICE studio developing the upcoming Battlefield title, this time around, a total of four distinct studios are collaborating on its creation.

On Tuesday, EA hosted its Investor Day 2024 event, revealing some additional details about who is set to create the upcoming game, as well as how it will be developed.

As per the company’s announcement, DICE will primarily develop the game’s multiplayer aspects. Earlier this year, Motive was assigned to work on Battlefield, leaving them to concentrate on creating the game’s single-player mode. Criterion Games, known for their work on Battlefield V, Battlefield 2024, and the Need For Speed series, will be contributing to both the single-player and multiplayer aspects of the game. Lastly, Ripple Effect is currently developing a new experience that will be unveiled at a later date.

More recently, EA has validated a previous scoop by TopMob about the upcoming Battlefield title. The game promises to reintroduce 64-player battlefields, a class-based structure, and a tentative launch in 2025. Moreover, TopMob has discovered that the new Battlefield installment will incorporate a free-to-play Battle Royale setting. However, it remains undetermined whether this is the “novel experience” Ripple Effect is developing.

Further details about the game are set to be disclosed at a future time, covering aspects such as a sneak peek into gameplay, available modes, the launch date, and other relevant information.
