A new game called Log Riders is coming to Steam in February, and it’s inspired by cooperative physics-based games like Chained Together. These kinds of games, where players control physics and overcome tricky challenges, have become really popular recently – Getting Over It is a great example! Many independent developers on Steam have noticed this trend, creating games that require players to use physics and teamwork to succeed. One game in particular built on the fun by adding a cooperative element.
Released in June 2024, the co-op platformer Chained Together quickly became a hit with streamers and players alike. Within its first week, over 80,000 people were playing the game, and it was even named “Stream Game of the Year” at the 2024 Streamer Awards. The game’s popularity has led to a film adaptation being planned by Anton studio. Now, a new game on Steam builds on the Chained Together concept, putting a fresh spin on the idea with a log ride adventure featuring two lumberjacks.
Log Riders Is A Physics-Based Co-Op Platformer With Lumberjacks
Bluespy Studios’ new game, Log Riders, offers a fresh take on the cooperative fun found in games like Chained Together. In Log Riders, up to two players team up as lumberjacks, working together to overcome challenges like crossing shaky bridges and steering a mine cart while balancing on a rolling log. The game supports both local and online co-op, even letting players share a keyboard to control both characters. Players can also customize how their lumberjacks look. Log Riders is set to launch on Steam on February 12, and its price will be announced closer to release.
Log Riders looks like a fun and silly game, ideal for playing with a friend. Bluespy Studios, the developers, have included three difficulty levels and checkpoints so players can save their progress. This isn’t Bluespy’s first game – they’ve also created detective game Soulflow, tower defense game Toy Shire, and rhythm game Bandroll. Based on the positive reaction to the game’s trailer, Log Riders is expected to be a hit with streamers and viewers alike.

The developers, Bluespy Studios, have confirmed single-player is possible, even though the game is best experienced with two players. The game includes built-in voice chat, so you can easily communicate with friends without needing to use programs like Discord. Log Riders will also feature Steam achievements and a leaderboard where players can compete for the fastest completion time.
Co-Op-Focused Games Have Taken Off In Recent Years
Log Riders is the latest game joining the increasingly popular world of cooperative gameplay, where working with friends is key to the fun. Games like Chained Together, Overcooked, and Phasmophobia have already proven how successful this style can be. Hazelight Studios, a Swedish developer, has been leading the way in modern co-op games, with hits like A Way Out and Split Fiction, and even winning Game of the Year for It Takes Two. With co-op games continuing to thrive, Log Riders appears to be a promising and funny addition to the genre.
