It’s been a roller coaster ride for Company of Heroes 3 following its 2023 launch.
When the game first came out, critics really liked it! Open Critic showed a lot of positive reviews, and everyone was saying it did a great job of continuing the legacy of the series and being genuinely fun to play. But honestly, as a fan, the reaction from the community since then has been… complicated. It’s definitely not been universally loved, and a lot of us have mixed feelings about it now.
Relic has consistently followed its plan for future content, delivering smaller updates this year that improved online gameplay and added new maps and items. However, players are eager for more substantial additions. The company previously announced a major update for Fall 2025, and with November already underway, fans are beginning to ask when it will arrive. Recent feedback on Steam suggests many players feel the updates released so far haven’t offered enough new content.
Relic Entertainment is following through on its promise with the new Battlegroup DLC, Endure & Defy, which will be released on November 27th.
To celebrate the new DLC release, Relic is offering a 10% discount on the Endure & Defy DLC, which normally costs $24.99 on Steam. As a special Black Friday deal, the main Company of Heroes game is also 60% off its regular price of $59.99.
Company of Heroes 3’s Endure & Defy Battlegroup DLC Features Four New Battlegroups
The latest Company of Heroes 3 DLC adds four new battlegroups to the game, with a unique one for each of the game’s four factions. These battlegroups can be used in both multiplayer matches and cooperative or skirmish games against the AI.
Each Battlegroup will offer a unique way to play, reflecting the style of its faction. These new groups will feature both brand-new units and beloved favorites from past Company of Heroes games. According to Relic, they’ll also introduce new abilities that change how the game is played.
Here’s a breakdown of the four new battlegroups and what players can expect from them.

You’ll also be able to demoralize enemy troops with the Propaganda Tower. Finally, turn the tides of battle with Panzerfaust rollouts, improvised barrages, and final battle directives. |
| British Forces – Polish Cavalry Battlegroup: | Lead the frontlines with Elite Polish Lancer Sections while Sherman Fireflies and Land Mattresses pick off enemies with strong armor and impressive efficiency. All Polish units will also thrive against veteran enemies. |
| Deutsches Afrikakorps – Kriegsmarine Battlegroup: | Kriegsmarine infantry will provide engineering prowess and combat flexibility. You can establish Hardpoints to secure territory and enable essential supply drops. Stuka Bombers, Naval salvos, and Fritz Glide-bombs will be important to push back the enemy from your shores. |
