The original game received a well-received remake last year, and after nearly a decade since the last main installment, Dead Rising 4, it looks like fans can expect a return to the zombie-filled action with some characters they recognize.
Hollywood-Set Dead Rising Sequel in the Works, Claims Report
According to a report from MP1st, Capcom is currently developing a new Dead Rising game. The game, which has supposedly been in development since 2023, will bring back Frank West and other familiar characters. It’s set in Hollywood, specifically on a massive movie set where a deranged director traps people to film his ultimate movie.
According to a new report, this game is a direct sequel to the original Dead Rising, taking place before Dead Rising 4. It seems the game will bring back popular features from the first title, like the camera and time limit. The survivor system, which appears in many Dead Rising games, will also be included and may even be more important to the story. However, the report doesn’t share any details about when the game will be released or how it will actually play.
Just to be clear, Capcom hasn’t officially announced a new Dead Rising game, so this news should be treated as a rumor for now. It’s been a while since a brand new game in the series, making now a good time for a revival. The success of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster might have paved the way for a new title.
