A new Dragon Ball game will be unveiled next year in January at the Genkida Matsuri event in Japan.
Dragon Ball fans have been getting a lot of new content lately, with downloadable content released for all the recent games. Not only is another DLC planned for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero in January 2026, but a brand new Dragon Ball game is also scheduled to be announced around the same time.
A New Dragon Ball Title to Look Forward to for the Franchise’s 40th Anniversary
The official Dragon Ball Games account on X (formerly Twitter) has confirmed that a new Dragon Ball game will be announced in January 2026. The announcement will be made at the Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri event, where fans can also expect to see all the latest news and content for Dragon Ball games. Masako Nozawa, the voice actress for Son Goku, will be attending the event as well.

Heads up, Dragon Ball fans! The Genkida Matsuri event is happening on January 25th, 2026, and it’s free to get in! You do need to sign up beforehand on their website, though, so make sure you do that to secure your spot. I’m already planning my visit!
There are currently four Dragon Ball games available – Xenoverse 2, Kakarot, FighterZ, and Sparking Zero – and each has recently received downloadable content (DLC) and continues to be updated. In addition, a free-to-play mobile and console game, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra, is in development for iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The new game announced to celebrate Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary will be the sixth recent addition to the franchise.
