Ever since Stardew Valley blew up, everyone’s been searching for another amazing farming sim to get lost in. We all know ConcernedApe is working on Haunted Chocolatier, but the wait is real! That’s why I’m so hyped about Farmbotic coming to Steam in 2026. It looks super promising and gives us another awesome game to keep an eye on while we patiently (or not so patiently!) wait for the big titles to drop. It’s nice to have options, you know?
Originally called “Farmatic,” the Steam game Farmbotic (renamed in September 2025) blends the most enjoyable aspects of popular games like Stardew Valley, Satisfactory, and Palworld. It takes the relaxing farming, animal care, and exploration of Stardew Valley, combines it with the building features of Satisfactory, and adds the automation elements of Palworld. The result is a unique and engaging experience that fans of cozy farming simulators are sure to enjoy.
Farmbotic Blends Stardew Valley’s Farming and Exploration With Palworld’s Automation
Farming is central to both Stardew Valley and Farmbotic. Farmbotic lets you plant crops, raise animals, and grow unique, mutated plants. You’ll need to carefully manage your resources and improve your farm to become the most successful one around. This core gameplay loop is similar to Stardew Valley, but Farmbotic offers a first-person perspective instead of the third-person view of its inspiration.
Just like the mines in Stardew Valley, Farmbotic lets players explore underground to find ores and craft improved weapons. In Farmbotic, you’ll use an elevator to descend to deeper levels and discover unique areas as you go.
Farmbotic’s Features at a Glance
- AUTOMATED FARMING WITH ROBOTS – Deploy and manage Farmbots to handle planting, harvesting, and other tasks.
- BUILD AND OPTIMIZE PRODUCTION – Build machines, connect systems like pipes, and optimize resource flow across your farm.
- CROP AND ANIMAL MANAGEMENT – Plant crops, raise animals, and grow special mutated plants as your farm expands.
- MINE EXPLORATION AND COMBAT – Venture into underground mines to gather ores and materials while fighting mutated creatures.
- RESOURCE GATHERING AND UPGRADES – Collect materials like Rhemidium to craft advanced tools, machines, and upgrades.
- RETRO-FUTURISTIC AESTHETIC – A charming art style inspired by ’70s/’90s retro-futurism with whimsical robot designs.
- COMMUNITY AND QUESTS – Interact with NPCs, complete quests, and become part of village life.
- SOLO AND CO-OP PLAY – Full solo play option and online co-op with up to 4 players.
- CROSSPLAY – Friends on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can all join the same farm.
Similar to Stardew Valley, Farmbotic includes a local village with people players can get to know. The extent of these interactions is still being developed – it’s currently unclear if there will be a relationship system like in Stardew Valley – but the game’s description says players will complete quests for villagers and really become part of the community.
Like the monster-collecting in Palworld, Farmbotic uses automation to help keep things running on your farm, even when you’re away. In Palworld, you collect creatures called Pals and put them to work to maintain your base and keep production going. Farmbotic takes a similar approach, letting you manage your farm with the help of robots that handle tasks like caring for crops and animals.
Farmbotic’s Building and Automation Mechanics Channel the Spirit of Satisfactory
While Palworld gets a lot of attention, Farmbotic really stands out for its building and automation, clearly inspired by the popular game Satisfactory. Unlike games focused on doing everything by hand, Farmbotic lets you create automated systems with machines and robots to handle planting, harvesting, and production, much like building fully automated factories in Satisfactory.
Turn your farm into a modern, efficient business by using robots and smart farm technology to automate tasks and simplify management.
Like Satisfactory, Farmbotic focuses on finding resources, building automated production lines, and improving efficiency. However, instead of a factory, you’re running a farm! You’ll gather crops, raise animals, and mine resources, using machines and robots to do the work. As you unlock new tools and upgrades, your farm grows more complex, challenging you to optimize its design and fix any problems – much like the constant improvements you make in Satisfactory.
Okay, so in Farmbotic, it looks like the main thing you’ll be doing is gathering a resource called Rhemidium. It’s radioactive, and apparently, it’s key to unlocking new stuff – plants, machines, the whole nine yards. I’m guessing we’ll be digging for it in the mines, though they haven’t said how deep we’ll have to go. The game also mentions growing these weird, mutated plants, and I’m pretty sure Rhemidium is connected to that somehow. It sounds like we’ll need both to really progress!
Farmbotic lets up to four players team up to run a farm together. You can gather materials, construct machines, and even battle monsters to find valuable ores. Plus, the game supports crossplay, meaning players on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 can all play together.
Farmbotic blends the beloved farming, exploration, and town-building of Stardew Valley with automation inspired by Palworld and Satisfactory. It’s designed for cooperative play, allowing players to build bigger, more productive farms over time. Robots handle routine tasks, players can mine for valuable resources, and the game supports crossplay between PC and consoles. Overall, Farmbotic looks like a promising farming simulator that could become a standout title in the growing world of cozy games.
Farmbotic launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.
