A new free-to-play multiplayer game is out now, and it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys relaxing titles like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. It’s a great time to be a fan of cozy games, especially with the recent release of Stardew Valley on the Switch 2 and the first big update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons in years. There are plenty of options for cozy game players, but this new release is definitely worth checking out.
Heartopia is a relaxing new mobile game that launched fully on January 7th for both Android and iOS. If you enjoy cozy games, Heartopia has everything you’d want: you can build and decorate a house, create a garden, fish, farm, customize your character, and even adopt pets. It’s a complete Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley-like experience, and best of all, it’s free to play on your phone!
Since launching, Heartopia has been incredibly popular! It currently has a 4.8-star rating on the Play Store based on over 22,000 reviews, and has already been downloaded more than 1 million times. If you enjoy relaxing, cozy games, you can find Heartopia in your mobile app store. It’s free to play, and while there are optional in-app purchases, you can still have a great experience without spending any money.

While Heartopia doesn’t introduce groundbreaking new concepts, its charming 3D art style helps it differentiate itself from games like Stardew Valley, which often use pixel graphics. The game successfully adapts popular elements from cozy titles like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing into a format that works well on mobile devices, and that approach has been working well for it so far.
Is Heartopia Coming to Steam?
Image via XD Many gamers prefer playing on PC instead of mobile, and are looking forward to Heartopia being available on Steam. While you can currently download and play Heartopia directly from the game’s website, the Steam version hasn’t been released yet. Although there’s no confirmed release date, it’s anticipated to launch on Steam before the end of the year.
As much as I’m loving Heartopia, I’m still hoping it comes to consoles! There hasn’t been any announcement about a PlayStation, Switch, or Xbox version yet, which is a bummer. But if the game keeps doing so well, I really think the developers will have to consider bringing it to other platforms. It just feels like Heartopia would be HUGE on a console like the Switch, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed we hear some news about that soon!
While Nintendo Switch owners can’t currently play Heartopia, they’ll soon be able to enjoy a special cozy game called Pokemon Pokopia, which is scheduled to launch on March 5th.
Good news for players of Heartopia! The developers plan to release more updates in the coming months. Because Heartopia is a free game, you can expect new content to arrive more often than in games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing. If you’re a fan of cozy games and are looking for something new, Heartopia is worth checking out – and it won’t cost you a thing!
