I’m absolutely buzzing – Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is almost here! The hype is real, and the promotional material has been fantastic. They’ve been dropping trailers to get us all excited, and just released another one that’s really building the anticipation. Plus, they’ve finally revealed the ending theme song! It’s called “The Story of Us” and it’s going to be sung by milet – I can’t wait!
Frieren Season 2 Will Release In January 2026
Frieren Season 2 Is One Of The Most Anticipated Anime Of 2026
- Frieren Season 2 is releasing on January 16th
- The new season will likely have over 20 episodes
The second season of Frieren will premiere on January 16, 2026. Now that the release date is official, fans can start getting ready to follow Frieren and her companions on their adventures in the fantasy world.
I’m so excited for Frieren Season 2! From what I’ve gathered, it looks like they’re planning to cover a lot of ground, including the ‘Continued Northern Travels’, ‘Divine Revolte’, and ‘Golden Land’ arcs – and maybe even the ‘Goddess’s Monument’ arc! The first season adapted about 60 chapters of the manga, so I’m hoping Season 2 will be similar in length, unless the studio decides to condense things a bit.
The first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End had 28 episodes, split into two parts. Given that Madhouse is taking almost three years to release the second season, it’s likely that it will have at least as many episodes as the first.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Manga Is On A Break
Fans are excited that the anime is coming back, but they’re also concerned about the manga. The manga is currently on hold because the creators, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, need to rest and recover. They’ve been working incredibly hard, and it’s understandable that they need a break.
We hope this break allows the creators to get well and continue the story. The health issues of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe highlight how demanding the manga industry is, and remind us that everyone involved needs adequate rest.
Image by Madhouse Many popular manga artists, including Eiichiro Oda, Yoshihiro Togashi, and Gege Akutami, have struggled with health issues caused by the demanding work of creating manga. Akutami recently shared that his health didn’t improve until Oda advised him to seek a second opinion from a different doctor. Let’s hope Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe aren’t pressured to return to work before they’re fully recovered.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 releases on January 16th, 2026.
