New Game Is Like Skate, But With a Scooter

Next week, the exciting sandbox-style scooter game known as ScootX will be released on Xbox. This early access sensation is aiming to offer an experience similar to Skate, focusing on the sensation of movement, smooth flow, and accurate physics. However, instead of a skateboard, it uses a kick scooter for the action.

Mash Games, a studio located in North Vancouver known for producing BMX games exclusively, has now released their latest title called ScootX. This game marks a shift from BMX to scooters, being the first-ever physics-driven scooter simulation. Originally launched on Steam Early Access on July 4, 2025, it follows their previous releases such as PIPE by BMX Streets (in 2018) and BMX Streets (in 2024).

ScootX Locks Down an Xbox Release Date

Approximately two and a half months from now, the independent sports simulation game, tentatively named ScootX, is set to transition to Xbox consoles, specifically the Xbox Series X/S. The anticipated release date is September 19, marking Mash Games’ first foray into the realm of Microsoft’s current-generation Xbox consoles. As of now, the pricing details for the console versions remain undisclosed, but considering the Steam version retails at $19.99, it’s reasonable to expect a similar price point. The Xbox Store page for ScootX is already active, albeit offering minimal information. Surprisingly, the listing omits a specific release date, which has been confirmed separately by Microsoft as part of their latest rundown of upcoming Xbox launches.

A significant part of ScootX is geared towards fostering experimentation. As stated in its summary, “there’s no wrong way to ride” implies that advancement remains consistent and purposeful regardless of playstyle. This adaptability is also shared with the upcoming early access version of Skate’s reboot, due for release on September 16.

It’s expected that the port of “ScootX” for Xbox Series X/S will include all the updates the game has received on Valve’s storefront this summer, with the most recent update occurring on August 30th, which introduced a fresh new map. Just a day prior to that, “ScootX” also included several new tricks and some refined animations.

Dozens of Games Coming to Xbox Next Week

During the week starting September 15, Xbox Series X/S will introduce more than three dozen games. The launch will begin with the co-op adventure game LEGO Voyagers and the psychological horror title BrokenLore: LOW on the first day. On the following day, Football Heroes League, Goat Out of Hell, Frame Cat, and Parasol Superstars are set to release. Other notable games joining this mid-September 2025 Xbox lineup include Bio Block, a puzzler, and the console port of Frostpunk 2, both arriving on September 18. Car Mechanic Shop Simulator and the early access version of EA Sports FC 26 are scheduled for release a day later.
