The action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is coming to the new Nintendo Switch 2! Cygames recently revealed a preview of the game’s next big update, Endless Ragnarok, which will launch on the console this summer. The Switch 2 version will also have a special feature just for fans.
I was super excited watching the Nintendo Direct last week! It was all about games from other companies coming to Switch and the new Switch 2. They announced that Granblue Fantasy: Relink is heading to the Switch 2, which is awesome! We also got news about some games I’ve been waiting for, like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Digimon Story: Time Stranger, both coming to Nintendo consoles sometime in 2026. And it wasn’t just old favorites – they showed off a brand new action RPG called Kyoto Xanadu from Falcom, plus a collection of classic retro games called Console Archives. Definitely a lot to look forward to!
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Reveals New Expansion and Switch 2 Port
Although Granblue Fantasy: Relink had a strong start when it launched in early 2024, player interest began to decrease over time. However, Cygames recently announced a surprise: Granblue Fantasy: Relink is coming to the Switch 2 on Thursday, July 9th. The Switch 2 version will include the full Endless Ragnarok expansion, adding new boss fights as a powerful enemy named Beelzebub threatens the world. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok will also be released on Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on the same day.
When Granblue Fantasy: Relink launches on the new Switch 2 console, it will be the only version of the game that lets you play local co-op with friends. The expansion will also add Endless Ragnarok to all digital copies of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, bringing the price to $60. If you already own Granblue Fantasy: Relink on Steam or PlayStation, you can upgrade to include Endless Ragnarok for a reduced price, starting at $29.99 for the standard version.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Granblue Fantasy: Relink will have a physical release, but it will be distributed on Game-Key Cards. This makes sense, as the game requires around 60GB of storage space, and the Switch 2’s physical format is designed for larger games. When the Endless Ragnarok expansion launches in July, players on PlayStation, PC, and Switch 2 will be able to play together online – a feature many fans have requested. However, Switch 2 players will need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to access the online multiplayer features.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Will Have New Battle Features for Players to Try Out
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is already known for its exciting, fast-paced battles, making it a top JRPG for action fans. The upcoming Endless Ragnarok expansion will add even more challenging enemies to fight. Players can test their skills in a new solo mode called The Conflux, which features mysterious powers and unpredictable challenges. A revamped summoning system will offer greater strategic depth in combat, and players will even be able to temporarily control some summons, including those called forth by the character Lyria. When specific requirements are met, summons can unleash a powerful “Primal Burst” attack against their foes.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink lets you further improve characters with master traits, unlocking even more potential. With both these new traits and a fresh set of playable characters coming in the Endless Ragnarok expansion, players might want to experiment with different party combinations when the update arrives on July 9th. Overall, fans won’t have to wait much longer to jump back into the game.
