New Horror Game With Silent Hill Composer Shadow Dropped on Xbox Game Pass

The new horror game Total Chaos, featuring music by renowned Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, unexpectedly appeared on Xbox Game Pass. The game was revealed during November’s Xbox Partner Preview, a presentation that also showcased upcoming titles like Tides of Annihilation, 007 First Light, and Reanimal. New game announcements included Vampire Crawlers, a deck-building roguelite from the creators of Vampire Survivors, and Zoopunk, which takes place in the same world as the 2021 game F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch.

Originally starting as a modification for the game Doom 2, Total Chaos has evolved into a completely updated, independent game playable on today’s computers and consoles. Its developer, Trigger Happy Interactive, previously gained recognition with Turbo Overkill, a well-received fast-paced shooter from 2023. Turbo Overkill drew inspiration from 1990s classics like Duke Nukem 3D and other beloved shooters of that era.

Total Chaos Is Available to Play Now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

As of November 20, 2025, Total Chaos will be available on Xbox Series X/S, through Xbox Cloud Gaming, and as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The game was announced with a new trailer revealing its frightening gameplay. Total Chaos is a first-person survival horror game with nine chapters where players will battle various terrifying creatures. It features a detailed inventory system, weapon crafting, and both close-quarters and long-range combat.

One of the biggest draws of the upcoming game Total Chaos, as shown in its Xbox preview trailer, is the original music created by Akira Yamaoka. Yamaoka is a famous Japanese composer best known for his work on the Silent Hill series. He collaborated with Jason Dagenet, William Braddell, and Apogee’s Tim Stoney, Chipper Hammond, and Mathieu Halloui to create the game’s atmospheric and memorable soundtrack.

I’m so excited! Total Chaos is out today, and it’s immediately available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate! Even better, it’s a Play Anywhere title, so I can start playing on my Xbox and then pick up right where I left off on my PC or even my ROG Ally. If you prefer Steam, it’s also available there for $21.24 right now with a 15% launch discount – but hurry, that ends on November 27th! And get this – they’re planning to add SteamVR support in Q2 2026, which means I’ll be able to play in VR! Seriously, this is awesome.
