New LEGO Art Set Revealed for March 1

LEGO is releasing a new set on March 1st that will appeal to art and LEGO enthusiasts! The “Monet Lily Pads” set, part of the LEGO Art series, will let fans build their own version of the famous painting. It’s expected to cost around $250. The LEGO Art series has previously showcased pieces inspired by well-known artists, and now adds French Impressionist Claude Monet to that list.

The LEGO Art series started in 2020, offering collectors a chance to build famous 2D artworks using LEGO bricks. The first sets, like Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Iron Man, and Star Wars: The Sith, were built on 48×48 stud canvases and used LEGO Dots to create the images. Since then, the series has grown to include different sizes, more artists, and even recreations of famous sculptures, going beyond just flat artwork.

LEGO Art Monet Lily Pads Leaks for a March 1 Release, $250 Price Tag

So, I was browsing the LEGO Leaks subreddit, and someone – itsjustajoe, to be exact – dropped some pics of a new LEGO Art set: Monet’s Lily Pads. It’s a big one – over 3,000 pieces! – and the price reflects that, coming in at $250. Definitely aimed at adult collectors and art lovers like myself, and it’s actually the most expensive set in the LEGO Art line right now.

This LEGO set is inspired by Claude Monet’s famous 1899 painting, The Water Lily Pond. The painting shows the beautiful Japanese garden at Monet’s home in Giverny, France – a scene he captured in over 250 paintings during the last three decades of his life. A key feature of the painting, and this LEGO set, is the bridge that arches over the water lilies.

Monet isn’t the first renowned artist featured in the LEGO Art collection. His work will be added to sets already created for artists like Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh, Hokusai, Robert Indiana, and Keith Haring (whose LEGO set came out in May 2025). Many people commenting on a post by user itsjustajoe have pointed out that the LEGO pieces used in the Monet Lily Pads set are chosen to resemble the brushstrokes in his actual paintings, giving the set a distinctive, Impressionistic texture.
