As a dedicated fan of the Mafia franchise since its inception back in 2002, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard about Mafia: The Old Country! Having experienced every twist and turn in the criminal underworld through the first three games, I can’t wait to go even further back in time to witness the very origins of organized crime.


2K and Hangar 13 unveiled “Mafia: The Old Country” at Gamescom 2024, hinting that it will transport players into the roots of organized crime. This upcoming title within the well-known Mafia series is slated for release in 2025, with a closer look at the game to be revealed in December 2024.

The Mafia video game collection, mainly produced by 2K and Hangar 13, consists of action-adventure games centered around stories about organized crime. Starting in 2002 with Mafia 1, the series has spawned several sequels, a reboot of the original game in 2020, and a recently announced new addition to the collection after a gap of four years. Recognized for its compelling narrative style and accurate historical backdrops, this series delves into various eras of the criminal underworld.

The trailer for “Mafia: The Old Country” gives a glimpse into the game’s tone, showcasing intense visuals and fitting music to convey the gritty setting fans are familiar with.
