New Marvel Rivals Patch Addresses Bug Fixes

New Marvel Rivals Patch Addresses Bug Fixes

As a seasoned gamer who has seen more than a few game updates in my time, I must say that the depth and detail of this patch note is truly impressive. It seems like the developers have left no stone unturned in their quest to address every possible issue, from visual glitches to hero ability quirks.

NetEase’s Marvel Rivals has been incredibly popular since last week’s launch.

The game has already amassed over 10 million players across all platforms, and fans are enjoying playing with their favorite Marvel heroes.

During the initial rollout, the game’s servers showed remarkable resilience, yet they’ve encountered their share of problems and minor glitches. However, I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid these issues myself. On the contrary, one of my friends got stuck outside the play area while playing Spider-Man in a Marvel Rivals map yesterday.

It appears that NetEase recognized certain problems and has addressed them by releasing an update that can be accessed on all platforms.

Today’s Marvel Rivals update, labeled as version 20241210, prioritizes fixing problems rather than adjusting hero abilities. It focuses on resolving instances where characters get trapped in levels, smoothing out graphical glitches, and addressing audio effects that aren’t functioning properly.

During a recent Dev Talk, it was announced that the team is prioritizing three types of updates for Marvel Rivals. Firstly, hotfixes and online patches are intended to ensure the game remains accessible. Hotfixes automatically update the game, allowing you to carry on playing without interruption, while online patches need to be downloaded but won’t disconnect you from the game. Lastly, maintenance updates will typically occur at the start of a new season, necessitating server downtime.

Marvel Rivals Version 20241210 Patch Notes

Greetings, Rivals! We’re here to give you the scoop on Version 20241210’s updates!

It appears that certain areas along the border of the newly-issued map are causing characters to get trapped. We’ve thoroughly examined the entire map and made every effort to correct this glitch. Nevertheless, additional tweaks might be necessary to fully rectify the problem. Therefore, we appreciate your patience as we continue our investigation and work towards finding a solution that prevents such issues from recurring in the future.

Without further ado, here are the details!

All Platforms

General

During playback of highlights and recordings, you might have noticed noticeable crosshair movement (or delay), along with potential lag issues. However, we’re pleased to inform you that this problem has now been successfully addressed.

· Changing where Highlights were saved would cause the game to crash. This issue has been resolved.

In a Quick Match, substitute players might miss out on seeing the costumes their teammates have on for their heroes. However, this problem is now fixed.

The problem with the Season Event screen showing mission progress correctly has now been fixed.

· Fixed some textual errors. More fixes will be coming in a future update.

Following a game crash, there was a prolonged moment where it seemed like the game might hang on. But fear not! This hiccup has been ironed out, ensuring that the game will now shut down promptly after encountering any crashes from now on.

· Fixed some relatively common crash issues.

Maps & Game Modes

On specific game maps like Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven and Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface, collisions along the edges sometimes cause characters to get stuck or pass through and enter unusual locations. Although we’ve largely addressed these problems, since they affect numerous maps and regions, this bug could potentially occur elsewhere. We will persist in fixing such issues and strive to devise a comprehensive solution to eliminate them entirely.

In the misty regions of the Interstellar Empire of Wakanda: Hall of Djalia and Interstellar Empire of Wakanda: City of T’Challa:

From Hela and Storm’s viewpoints, the fog vanishes whenever they trigger their Ultimate abilities. This problem is now fixed.

Following the resurgence of Jeff, the Land Shark, amidst the mist, neither his allies nor adversaries could witness the unique visuals of Joyful Splash’s special effects. However, this problem has now been addressed.

· In Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven – Frozen Airfield:

If a player gets knocked out (KO’ed) during movement towards a critical zone, it previously resulted in unusual lightning behavior. However, this problem is now fixed.

In games, occasionally interrupting the connection might lead to inconsistencies with certain doors (for instance, a door appearing closed yet passable, or open yet impassable). Fortunately, this problem has been successfully addressed now.

· Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven – Eldritch Monument:

If Adam Warlock employs his Ultimate when the target zone is either rising or falling, there’s a possibility that his teammates could respawn but get trapped under the ground if they happen to be standing directly on the platform of the target area. However, this problem has now been fixed.

If Hela’s team-up skill brings back either Thor or Loki, there was a chance that they could wind up buried under the ground if they were standing directly on the platform of the rising or falling target area. However, this problem has now been fixed.

If Jeff the Land Shark unleashes his Ultimate ability to consume characters when the target area is moving up or down, there was a possibility that those characters standing directly on the platform of the target area could get stuck under the terrain. However, this problem has now been fixed.

If Winter Soldier uses his Ultimate ability on an enemy during an ascent or descent, and the enemy lands on the specified target area platform, previously there was a chance for damage to be missed. However, this problem has now been fixed.

In the competitive game mode, previously, if the next round wasn’t the final stage of a map, the vehicle’s effective range wouldn’t show up as it reached its destination, making it difficult to judge the effective occupying radius. However, this problem has now been fixed.

In the third stage of Competitive Convoy or Convergence, previously, heroes could transfer their Ultimate power from the second round. Now, this practice has been changed, and heroes will no longer pass on their Ultimate energy.

Heroes

When Wolverine wore his shared Deadpool & Wolverine outfit, only the line for his Undying Animal ability could be heard. Now, this problem has been fixed.

Following the concluding animation of Star-Lord’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there was no audio played during the final screen. However, this problem has now been fixed.

Previously, when Iron Fist employed pings, the associated voice responses wouldn’t activate. However, this problem has now been fixed.

As a dedicated gamer, I just wanted to let you know that there was an error with the ADS sensitivity settings in Black Widow’s configuration. But fear not, fellow gamers! The problem has now been fixed and we can all get back to dominating the battlefield!

In specific instances, Black Widow’s Ultimate ability didn’t restore energy like it should have. However, this problem has now been fixed.

In some exceptional circumstances, the final outcome for Captain America’s Ultimate version might not go as planned. However, this matter has now been properly addressed.

Currently, when Doctor Strange’s portals cause ground knockouts (KOs), they unintentionally replenish Doctor Strange’s ultimate energy. To address this temporary problem, we have temporarily removed the ability of the portals to cause ground KOs (meaning that ground KOs won’t be counted as part of Doctor Strange’s own KOs). Don’t worry, this bug will be fixed in an upcoming update, and at that time, the portals will once again attribute KOs.

PC

Employing FSR 3 for frame resolution adjustment might lead to memory leaks, producing fuzzy models. However, this problem has now been effectively addressed.

Console

Wearing the Scarlet Spider costume from the PlayStation bundle may have caused the game to show that you weren’t wearing it properly after a restart. However, this problem has now been fixed.
