As a huge anime and manga fan, I was so excited for Jump Festa, and it finally happened today! It was amazing – they revealed and confirmed a ton of cool new and upcoming projects that everyone’s been waiting for.
The One Piece panel concluded Jump Festa 2026, but it didn’t offer much new content. Fans only saw the trailer for the live-action adaptation. Updates on the Wit Studio remake were minimal. The highlight was a message from creator Eiichiro Oda, who announced that a new One Piece movie is in the works. While he didn’t share many details, Oda generated excitement and left fans eager to learn more about the upcoming adventure.
Eiichiro Oda Officially Confirms A New One Piece Movie is Coming
- One Piece Movie Is In The Works Already
- Work On It Not Going Too Well
The One Piece panel at Jump Festa 2026 was held today, December 21, 2025. While fans eagerly anticipated news about the series’ plans for 2026, the event ultimately left many disappointed.
The biggest moment of Jump Festa 2026 for One Piece fans was Eiichiro Oda’s annual message. In it, Oda shared exciting news about upcoming plans and offered a sneak peek at what’s in store for the manga next year.
The biggest news for many One Piece fans was the announcement of a new movie. While details are scarce – Oda isn’t able to share much yet – a movie is officially in production. Hopefully, we’ll learn more in the next year.
Hello to all attendees of Jump Festa! I’m O-Myaku-Da Myaku-Ichiro, and I’m looking forward to a bright future for everyone!
I asked my editor for a quick overview of our plans for next year, and it turns out we have a lot going on! However, they told me I couldn’t mention almost any of it just yet. It feels like there’s very little I can share right now!
The projects on the list are largely designed for people around the world, with Japan being a key focus. Production on the new anime, The One Piece, which is also intended for a global audience, is moving forward well.
Get ready! Season 2 of the live-action One Piece is coming March 10th of next year, and it’s going to be adorable! Chopper will be joining the cast, and trust me, you’ll be saying “So cute!” just like I do every time I see new clips. Prepare for maximum cuteness next March!
Really soak up the fun, lively energy of the Straw Hat crew and all the other fantastic characters, like Iñaki! Great news – they’ve already started filming season 3, so we’ll finally see the conclusion of the Arabasta arc. We can’t wait!
I’m not supposed to share any details about the anime movie just yet! And things aren’t really coming together as quickly as I’d hoped. Maybe mentioning that will encourage everyone to speed things up—a little nudge, if you will! (laughs)
I think many of you will find this exciting, so please bear with me for just a moment.
Now then, since it’s Jump Festa, let’s talk about the original Jump manga!
Following an extensive look into the past, the story jumps back to the present. Just as you begin to see Elbaf in a new light, everything culminates in a dramatic climax. From this point forward, the stakes are incredibly high.
Could this be the island only the Pirate King has ever found? A mysterious, flame-marked man makes his entrance! Two people who’ve never met before are about to cross paths… and then another unexpected meeting happens! Will next year be filled with incredible encounters?
I’m finding the story incredibly fast-paced, but I need to take things a little slower these days to look after my health. Still, I plan to keep reading One Piece as quickly as I can next year – maintaining a consistent and energetic approach! And it looks like a big event is coming up soon!
Please look forward to it!!!” — Eiichiro Oda
What Could One Piece’s Upcoming Anime Movie Be About?
Lots of One Piece fans are curious about the plot of the new movie that Oda has been promoting. Right now, the story is a mystery – Oda didn’t share any details, only saying it should be interesting for fans of the series.
Despite the lack of official information, fans have developed some theories about the movie’s plot. A particularly popular one suggests it will explore the backstory of the previous user of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika – the fruit Luffy currently possesses. Many believe this would be an incredibly exciting development, and after years of speculation, fans are eager to see this story finally told.
Many fans are still hoping for a movie that adapts content from the manga, particularly the God Valley Incident. While it seemed unlikely before due to potential conflicts with the anime series, the fact that the anime is now released seasonally makes this idea seem more possible.
When Will The Next One Piece Movie Be Released?
Fans attending Jump Festa 2026 hoped to see something new about the next One Piece movie, like artwork or a first look at the movie’s key visual. However, a recent message from Eiichiro Oda revealed that the movie is still very early in production. Oda explained that progress is slow and asked fans to be patient.

Based on what he’s saying, it looks like we’re in for a long wait – possibly more than a year. It’s likely fans won’t see the next One Piece movie until 2027.
It’s understandable that a lot of fans are feeling let down. It’s been over three years since ‘One Piece Film Red’ came out in 2022, and the anticipation for a new movie has just been building and building.
