New Plants vs. Zombies Game Leaked

Speculation about a fresh installment of the popular game series, “Plants vs. Zombies,” is intensifying, as an investigative group claims they have details on the title’s name, release date, price, and supported platforms. If these rumors hold water, fans could return to the world of “Plants vs. Zombies” this autumn.

Initially, PopCap Games saw a significant triumph with the release of Plants vs. Zombies, swiftly outperforming both Peggle and Bejeweled as their highest-grossing title. The game garnered acclaim from both fans and critics, even securing two nominations at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards, a precursor to today’s annual Game Awards ceremony in December.

Reports have emerged hinting at a potential return of the popular game “Plants vs. Zombies” this year, with the Brazilian rating board listing a project called “Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded” in March. More recent news from Dealabs Magazine suggests that a new title is indeed on the horizon. However, the team behind the reveal claims the game will actually be called “Plants vs. Zombies Replanted”, and it’s rumored to launch on October 23, 2025. It should be noted that no official confirmation has been given about this game’s existence, but according to the reporting source, it is expected to be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, priced around €10 or approximately $12 USD.

Plants vs. Zombies May Get a New Game in October 2025

It remains uncertain how the revamped game, titled “Plants vs. Zombies Replanted,” will appear and function based on the report. This new version is said to be a significant overhaul of the original tower defense game, which was initially launched for PC in May 2009. However, this doesn’t necessarily guarantee its return to the 2D format that the previous two games in the franchise have employed. Instead, the “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare” series, featuring characters from the mainline series in a 3D first-person shooter (FPS) environment, has seen three installments. Furthermore, the game “Plants vs. Zombies Heroes,” released in 2016, was a digital trading card battler where players collected heroes from both sides of the plant versus zombie conflict and engaged in one-on-one battles.

If it turns out that there’s truth to the whispers about a new game called Plants vs. Zombies Replanted, it might cast doubt on the fate of the upcoming mainline title, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia. The third installment was initially soft-launched in 2020 and reintroduced in 2024, but the original Plants vs. Zombies game was closed down for improvements and hasn’t resurfaced since. It’s plausible that this rumored game could be the outcome of those upgrades, though fans will have to stay tuned before they can draw their own conclusions.
