New Pokemon Game Shadow Dropped

Just now, a brand-new game titled “Pokemon Companions” has stealthily appeared in the world of Pokemon. This game provides a warm and inviting Pokemon adventure by seamlessly combining aspects from various game genres.

On the 22nd of July, The Pokemon Company hosted a 24-minute Pokemon Presents stream. Packed with more than a dozen announcements, mainly centered around video games, the event unveiled several new projects. One of the early reveals was for a game titled Pokemon Friends.

Pokemon Friends belongs to a unique blend of genres, incorporating elements of puzzle games and decoration simulators. The initial release offers over 1,200 puzzles, each designed based on the world of Pokemon. Solving these puzzles rewards players with Yarn, an in-game currency that can be exchanged for Pokemon stuffed toys. The Plush-O-Matic converter serves as the link between the puzzle-solving and decoration aspects of the game, allowing users to utilize their earnings to adorn virtual spaces where they can unwind.

Pokemon Friends Offers Quests, Over 150 Plushies, and More

In the game called Pokemon Friends, there are currently more than 150 plush toys to gather. Additionally, you can personalize your space by acquiring wallpapers, either by purchasing them or earning them. The game unfolds in a charming town called Think Town, where kind-hearted residents offer regular friend missions for the player. Alongside these friend quests and login rewards, Pokemon Friends is structured to motivate frequent play, much like many contemporary free-to-play mobile games.

Where to Download Pokemon Friends

  • iOS App Store (Free)
  • Google Play Store (Free)
  • Nintendo eShop ($9.99)

Despite being labeled as “Pokemon Friends”, this game doesn’t adhere to the typical freemium model consistently across all platforms. The mobile versions are free initially, but the Switch version costs $9.99. This difference is significant as the Switch version comes with features similar to what you get when purchasing the mobile release along with the Basic Pack, which contains unlimited daily puzzles, calendar features, and additional content for $9.99. Both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices also offer two “Puzzle On” packs, priced at $14.99 each or $25.99 as a bundle. Although The Pokemon Company hasn’t confirmed plans for more content in the future, it seems possible that they might introduce additional features if the game proves successful commercially.

The educational aspect of their work is evident as “Pokemon Friends” has been designed to foster critical thinking skills. Each version offers five save slots, a feature provided by The Pokemon Company to enable multiple family members to play on one device.
