New Pokemon LEGO Set Leak Includes Eye-Watering Price

A new LEGO Pokémon set is expected to cost $649.99. It’s anticipated to be the priciest set released in the initial LEGO Pokémon collection, and will feature the first three Pokémon from the Kanto region – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle – though their designs might be different than originally predicted.

LEGO and Pokémon announced they were working together in March 2025. They said the first LEGO Pokémon sets would be released in 2026. Although there haven’t been any official announcements since then, details about some of the sets have leaked online several times throughout the latter half of 2025.

Upcoming LEGO Pokemon Set Will Reportedly Cost $650

LEGO news continues to emerge, and a recent report from LEGO leaker brick.tap details an upcoming set, numbered 72153. It’s expected to cost $650 in the US and £580 in the UK, and with 6,838 pieces, it will likely be the biggest set in the initial LEGO Pokemon collection. Previously, rumors suggested the set would feature the first evolutions of the Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander). However, brick.tap now believes the set will actually showcase their final evolutions – Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard.

LEGO set 72153 is one of three Pokémon sets designed for adults (18+) that were revealed in August 2025. Initially, LEGO news source Jedi JAC Penguin predicted these three would be followed by another three sets in early 2026. They later updated their information to only include five sets total, stating they would all be released on March 1st. A February 27th release date, mentioned by brick.tap, is likely an early access opportunity for LEGO Insiders members. Of these five sets expected in early 2026, four are reportedly for adults (18+), while one is rated for ages 12 and up.

Rumors and early listings suggest LEGO is planning a big release of at least 23 Pokémon sets in 2026, with 18 potentially launching on August 1st. We don’t yet know how much these sets will cost or how many pieces they’ll include. However, because the sets are aimed at a wide range of ages – from 6 to 18+ – it’s likely the collection will feature both small and large builds.

The recent leak of 23 LEGO Pokemon sets likely represents just the start of a long-term partnership between The Pokemon Company and LEGO. LEGO has also been strengthening its relationship with Nintendo, which partially owns The Pokemon Company. Just recently, LEGO previewed a new set based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, scheduled for release in March 2026.
