Lost Records: Bloom and Fury” – The latest story-focused adventure game from Don’t Nod, debuted in February 2025, offering instant access to PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. As the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed Life is Strange series, there were high hopes for “Lost Records: Bloom and Fury”. However, recent statistics reveal that the game is having a hard time connecting with its audience, even among those who received it free as part of their PS Plus subscription.

Under the production of Don’t Nod Montreal, the game titled “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage” unfolds the tales of four high school companions, split between two timeframes: the summer of 1995 and their reunion in 2022. Similar to Don’t Nod’s “Life is Strange” series, this game revolves primarily around its storyline, with players uncovering the fate of the four friends in 1995 and understanding how it shapes their present lives. Just as the initial episodes of the “Life is Strange” games, “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage” will be released in two segments. The first installment, named “Tape 1,” was launched on February 18, with the concluding part, “Tape 2,” originally scheduled for a release one month later.

Although it follows in the footsteps of the widely acclaimed Life is Strange series, it appears that Lost Records: Bloom and Rage is struggling to gain a significant audience. Compared to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which also debuted on PS Plus Extra last February, Lost Records attracted approximately 43.2% fewer players. Analysis of data from over 3.4 million active PlayStation Network accounts by TrueTrophies reveals that Lost Records had lower player numbers than games like Animal Well, Tchia, and Teardown upon its launch on PS Plus Extra.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Struggles to Attract Players

In a chat with Game Rant, the team behind Lost Records: Bloom and Rage talked about the thought process that shaped this game. Michel Koch, Luc Baghadoust, and Cathy Vincelli shared insights on how they looked back at their youth in the ’90s to create the setting for Lost Records, and also mentioned how the game Life is Strange impacted their methods when designing this new narrative-driven adventure game.

Initially, those eager to experience “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage” could start with “Tape 1”. However, they’ll need a bit more patience to find out the final chapter, as Don’t Nod Montreal has shifted the launch of “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Tape 2” from its initial March 18, 2025, release date to April 15, 2025.
