New games are now available for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers! This November’s lineup includes Stray, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, and EA Sports WRC 24. PlayStation Plus has had a great year, with a particularly strong summer celebrating its 15th anniversary and a fantastic selection of horror and thriller games throughout October.
The PS Plus game library has been boosted this year with popular titles like Lies of P, Sword of the Sea, Stardew Valley, and Diablo 4. This month’s free Essential games are all good, but Stray is particularly noteworthy – and it’s part of an interesting trend with the games offered on PS Plus.
PlayStation Plus members can get November 2025’s games now through December 1st.
Stray On PS Plus Essential For November 2025 Is a Repeat of an Odd Circumstance
PlayStation Plus’ History of ‘Double-Dipping’ Games Between Tiers
As a PlayStation Plus subscriber, I was really excited to see Stray back in the Essential tier this month! It’s a bit of a unique situation – it was originally available on the Extra and Premium tiers back in July 2022, but then it disappeared for about a year. Now it’s back, and it’s awesome! It’s not the first game to go through this cycle, though – a few others have been removed and then added back in the past.
- Ghostwire: Tokyo- First added to PS Plus Extra in March 2023 before coming to Essential in November 2024.
- It Takes Two- Included on Extra in July 2023, then added to Essential in December 2024.
- Little Nightmares- Arrived on all three tiers (Essential, Extra, and Premium) in August 2022 and was removed in June 2023.
Games come and go from PlayStation Plus, but the time they stay varies. It Takes Two and Ghostwire: Tokyo were on higher service tiers for just over a year before leaving, while Stray had the longest run on Extra/Premium before appearing on the base Essential tier. Little Nightmares is unique – it was available on all tiers simultaneously before being removed, something that hasn’t happened with any other game in the service’s history.
This is a great perk for members with the basic Essential plan, letting them access games that were originally on more expensive tiers later on. However, it’s a bit of a trade-off. Those paying for higher tiers could already claim these games when they first launched, meaning they aren’t getting truly new content at those times – and that’s currently the case with Stray as well.
Stray Being Included on PS Plus Essential After Being Could Inspire This Pattern to Continue
Okay, so usually Sony gives us different free games each month depending on which PlayStation Plus tier you have. But the fact that Stray moved from the Extra/Premium tiers down to Essential makes me wonder if we’ll see that happen again. Sword of the Sea is a recent example – it got great reviews, but it’s currently only on Extra. It seems like Sony might start doing this with other popular games too. If that happens, we could see titles like Sword of the Sea or others eventually become available on the base Essential tier a few years from now, which would be awesome!
