New PS Plus Premium Game for March 2026 is Already Getting Roasted by Fans

The start of 2026 with PlayStation Plus is following a familiar trend from late 2025. The basic PS Plus Essential tier, which offers free games, has been delivering titles that are just okay. PS Plus Extra is doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to new games each month. However, PS Plus Premium still seems to get the fewest additions, and people are already talking about the next game coming to that service.

PlayStation’s recent State of Play presentation highlighted the games coming to PS Plus in the next few months. PS Plus Essential members will receive Big Walk later this year. PS Plus Premium is adding Disney Pixar’s Wall-E this February, followed by Tekken: Dark Resurrection in March and Time Crisis in May. For February 2026, PS Plus Extra subscribers can look forward to Echoes of the End, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Monster Hunter Stories (1+2), Neva, Rugby 25, Season: A Letter to the Future, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, and Venba.

PS Plus Premium Subscribers Are Unhappy with Tekken: Dark Resurrection

It’s immediately obvious there are more games available, but figuring out which games takes a closer look. Players of the fighting game Tekken: Dark Resurrection realized the version on PlayStation Plus Premium is the one originally released for the PSP. Fans are puzzled why Sony didn’t use the PS2 version, which is generally considered better.

When Tekken: Dark Resurrection came to the PSP, fans immediately noticed its shortcomings. Many complained about the lack of multiplayer, referencing issues with the previous game, Tekken 6. Compared to the original Tekken 5, the PSP version felt simplified and lacked content, including stages. It also didn’t have a versus mode and had noticeably downgraded graphics. While some speculated Sony aimed for a strong single-player experience, that wasn’t a universally held view. Considering no games on the PS Plus Classics catalog offer online play, that may have been the reason for the omission, but fans generally agree that multiplayer is essential to any good fighting game – something the PS2 version could have provided.

Generally, players aren’t excited about this month’s game offering. Unlike the Essential and Extra tiers of PS Plus, which can afford to have a few weaker titles, PS Plus Premium needs to deliver more consistently. Premium often only adds a single game to its Classics Catalog, and subscribers probably already know what that one game will be for May. While things might still change before the month begins, fans will have to wait and see what happens.

PS Plus Reveal and Release Pattern Holds Strong

Okay, so the February PS Plus Extra and Premium games finally dropped on February 17th, even though the announcement was a little late thanks to the State of Play. That means we can expect to find out what free games are coming in March around February 25th – hopefully nothing weird happens at the last minute! They usually go live early in March, and then the Extra and Premium titles follow later in the month. The State of Play also hinted that we probably won’t be getting any new games added to the Premium tier in April, which is a bit of a bummer.

Currently, Tekken: Dark Resurrection is the only announced game for March. While it might not be the most exciting title, we’re hoping more games will be revealed soon. The free PlayStation Plus games probably won’t save the month, but the PlayStation Plus Extra lineup for March 2026 should offer a much stronger selection, as it has in the past.
