Valentine’s Day is almost here, and many PlayStation 5 owners are searching for games they can play together as a couple. While there are already lots of great co-op games available for PS5, a few new ones are coming out in February. Two of these will be released right around Valentine’s Day, with two more following later in the month.
The PlayStation 5, which came out in 2020, now has a great selection of games you can play with friends. Because it can play most PlayStation 4 games, there’s a huge existing library of co-op titles available. Plus, new games are being made specifically for the PS5 that support cooperative play. These games offer different ways to play together – some let you team up locally on the same console, while others allow online co-op, and some offer both. With so many options already available, and more on the way, PS5 gamers have plenty of choices for playing together.
The first new cooperative game for PS5 in February is Nioh 3, launching on February 6th. It offers two co-op modes that fans of games like Dark Souls will recognize: one lets you summon a friend for help with tough bosses, and the other allows you to explore the game’s world together. Nioh 3 has bigger levels than previous games in the series, making these dangerous areas more manageable with a partner. Keep in mind that the co-op features require an online connection.

A new co-op game called Reanimal is coming to PS5 on February 13th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s made by the creators of Little Nightmares and promises a similar spooky puzzle-platforming experience, but designed for cooperative play. The good news is you can play Reanimal with a friend either locally or online. This release follows closely after Nioh 3 and is shaping up to be a highly anticipated co-op title.
PS5 players will soon have a new game to enjoy: Towerborne! Created by the team behind The Banner Saga, it’s an action-packed RPG where you battle enemies, and it’s been getting good reviews since its release in early access 2024. You can play with a friend locally or online. Towerborne is another Xbox game coming to PlayStation 5.
The month wraps up with the release of Tales of Berseria Remastered. Like many other Tales of games, it features local co-op, letting a friend join the action-RPG battles. This remastered version includes several updates to bring it up to today’s standards, and fans of the series can play it on PS5 starting February 27th.
February 2026 will be a huge month for PlayStation 5, with at least eight major game releases. While four of those are cooperative titles, other notable games are also coming soon, including Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, High on Life 2, Avowed, and Resident Evil Requiem. PS5 gamers will definitely have plenty to play!
