Sony released a new update for the PlayStation 5 yesterday, adding a Power Saver mode and a highly requested feature: the ability to connect DualSense controllers to multiple devices at the same time. This makes it much simpler to switch between playing on your PC, console, or mobile devices.
The final months of 2025 are shaping up to be exciting for PlayStation 5 owners. September will feature several major releases, including *Dying Light: The Beast*, *Silent Hill f*, *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*, and *EA Sports FC 26*. October is equally packed, with *Ghost of Yotei* launching on October 2nd, followed shortly by *Battlefield 6*. *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* is set to arrive in mid-November, and during the holiday season in December, players can look forward to *Octopath Traveler 0*, *Code Violet*, and *Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection*.
New PS5 System Update Adds Power Saver Mode and DualSense Pairing Across Multiple Devices
A new PlayStation 5 update is available starting today, September 17th. This 1.3 GB update, numbered 25.06-12.00.00, brings a highly requested feature: the ability to connect your DualSense controller to multiple devices (up to four!) without re-pairing. This makes it easier to switch between your PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The update also introduces a new Power Saver mode, which will reduce the console’s energy use by slightly adjusting performance in supported games. Sony has announced that *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach*, *Ghost of Yotei*, and *Demon’s Souls* will add Power Saver mode support in future updates.
Recent reports indicate that a new PS5 Digital Edition is now available in Europe with less storage than the original. The standard PS5 Digital Edition has 1 TB of storage, but this new model, identified as CFI-2216, has only 825 GB. Sony hasn’t explained the change, but some speculate it’s a way to keep the console’s price down.
Sony is planning a major showing at Tokyo Game Show later this month, offering deeper previews of games like *Ghost of Yotei*, *Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls*, and *Astro Bot*. With *Ghost of Yotei* launching in just over two weeks, excitement is high – the sequel to *Ghost of Tsushima* quickly became the best-selling pre-order title when sales began in May.
