Fans of Resident Evil, brace yourselves! A recent rumor hints that we might catch another glimpse of Resident Evil: Requiem during the opening night of Gamescom Live.
Based on information from a reliable source, Dusk Golem (a known Resident Evil leaker), suggests that a “new presentation” of the game is expected during the upcoming event, with further details to be revealed on August 20, under a media embargo.
“[Then] it’ll be at Tokyo Game Show next month, too,” he said.
At Gamescom, I got a sneak peek into some additional details about Dusk Golem, and I’m particularly excited about the role of our protagonist, Leon. Here’s a glimpse of what we might be experiencing in the game.
He mentioned that, from what he understands, a significant part of Resident Evil 9’s “Long Awaited Endings & New Beginnings” storyline is intended to mark Leon’s final major appearance in the timeline. However, he will likely make occasional appearances in CG movies and earlier timeline content. So, there’s that to anticipate with Resident Evil Requiem.
On August 19th at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, 2 p.m. Eastern Time, 7 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time, or 8 p.m. Central European Summer Time, the Gamescom Opening Night Live event unfolds. TopMob will be there live from Cologne, Germany, providing comprehensive coverage of everything happening at Gamescom!
During his initial playtest of the game in June, Albert Perkins from TopMob noted that he could sense his shoulders tightening as the character cautiously moved around corners in each room and navigated a gloomy, narrow corridor. The darkness was so intense, it seemed like it might consume her entirely. In essence, Capcom has mastered the art of survival horror, and this game is certain to deliver frequent and terrifying scares right from the start.
The video game titled “Resident Evil Requiem” will hit the shelves on February 27, 2026, available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and personal computers (PC).
