This article contains major spoilers for Solo Leveling Season 3.
Among recent anime shows, Solo Leveling is widely considered one of the best. It quickly became incredibly popular with just two seasons, and its fanbase is expected to continue growing. Fans are now eagerly awaiting more content from the series.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Season 3 of Solo Leveling. While it hasn’t been officially announced – and there’s discussion of a movie sequel – they remain optimistic. Recently, a trailer for the new project, Solo Leveling Karma, was released, revealing a significant event: the death of Go Gun-hee. This came as a shock to viewers, and when animated, it’s expected to be the most emotionally impactful death in the entire series.
Solo Leveling Karma Reveals The Death Of Go Gun-hee
As a huge Solo Leveling fan, I’m incredibly hyped for Solo Leveling Karma! It’s going to be the biggest release in the franchise yet, honestly dwarfing the two video games we’ve already gotten. What’s really got me excited is that Karma is finally diving deeper into the history of the 27 Year Monarchs war – it’s a part of the lore I’ve been dying to see explored, and it’s going to be epic!
A new, fully animated trailer was released to build hype for the game. However, the trailer revealed major plot points that haven’t happened in the anime yet, much to the surprise of fans. Many were particularly shocked by the depiction of Go Gun-hee’s death.
Go Gun-hee is the highly respected chairman of the Hunter Association in South Korea. Fans adore him and don’t want to imagine Sung Jinwoo leaving his side. His death would be a devastating loss.
The Death of Go Gun-hee Should Take Place In Solo Leveling Season 3
Currently, a third season of Solo Leveling hasn’t been officially announced. It appears the studio is planning a movie instead. Fans are aware that Go Gun-hee’s death will happen, as both the movie and a potential Season 3 would cover that part of the story. However, because seasons are typically longer than movies, many believe Go Gun-hee’s death will likely be shown in Season 3.
“I Feel Like Something Within Me Is Lost Every Time I Get Stronger.” — Sung Jinwoo
This will be a deeply sad event, and incredibly painful for those involved. As the characters fight against the formidable Monarchs, many will risk everything, including Go Gun-hee. Sadly, his story doesn’t have a happy ending.
The Biggest Death in the Series Alongside Sung Il-Hwan
Many fans consider Go Gun-hee’s death to be the most impactful and heartbreaking moment in Solo Leveling. It’s especially painful because Jinwoo is powerless to prevent it. Gun-hee and Jinwoo had developed a close relationship, making his death a truly devastating blow for both the character and the readers.
Never even think of coming close to my family. — Sung Il Hwan to Hwang Dongsoo
The death of Go Gun-hee is comparable only to that of Sung Il-Hwan, Sung Jinwoo’s father. Sung Il-Hwan’s death will occur later in the story, and it will be a deeply sad event for both fans and Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling.
You can currently watch 25 episodes of Solo Leveling, divided into two seasons, with the latest season concluding in 2025. It’s available to stream on Crunchyroll. While there’s no news yet about a third season, fans can continue enjoying the story through the original Manhwa.
