Launching in early access on August 11, “Whisper Mountain Outbreak” – a fresh cooperative Steam game reminiscent of “Resident Evil”, will make its debut. Known for its enduring popularity and significant impact, “Resident Evil” is one of the most celebrated video game franchises ever. It’s only natural that numerous indie games draw inspiration directly from it. However, despite a plethora of games inspired by “Resident Evil”, each offers a unique twist to the survival-horror genre.
Over the past few years, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by some fantastic games that echo the spirit of classic “Resident Evil.” Among them, “Crow Country” has skillfully recreated the gameplay reminiscent of “Resident Evil,” and enriched it with graphical elements akin to “Final Fantasy 7.” Similarly, “Signalis” masterfully transported the essence of survival-horror into a captivating sci-fi setting. Now, another game that harks back to the glory days of “Resident Evil” is on its way, and it’s all about cooperative multiplayer action for four players!

The game titled “Whisper Mountain Outbreak” is marketed as a fusion of escape room challenges and cooperative survival horror elements. In the year 1998, players must navigate their way out of Mount Bisik while battling monsters, gathering useful items, and solving puzzles reminiscent of classic Resident Evil games. The game offers customizable characters, a health system similar to that found in Resident Evil, and distinct locations teeming with dangerous creatures to explore. Previews suggest that Whisper Mountain Outbreak will make for an enjoyable multiplayer experience and will likely attract fans of the Resident Evil franchise.

The game titled “Whisper Mountain Outbreak” stands out with distinct characteristics aiming to establish a distinctive presence within the survival-horror genre. One of its notable aspects is the inclusion of a class system, which grants players diverse abilities. This adds a strategic layer as players collaborate with their companions. As the game progresses, new skills can be acquired and advanced items crafted, offering an advantage to players. Given that it’s launching in early access, modifications are expected based on player feedback throughout its development.

Based on the information on its Steam page, releasing the game “Whisper Mountain Outbreak” as an early access title will provide the team with the opportunity to create a more complete gaming experience. The game is anticipated to be in early access for approximately 12 months, during which time players can anticipate additional features such as advancement across multiple games (meta progression), enhanced player customization options, more narrative elements, additional upgrades and equipment, new enemy types, diverse scenarios, various mission types, and levels. At its initial release, players will be able to engage with “8 randomly generated levels featuring 3 mission types, a variety of 12 weapon types, 6 character classes, 15 skill upgrade options, a crafting system, and the ability to personalize their character’s appearance through customizable skins.

As a gamer, I’ve got to admit that the 2.5D visuals might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but let me tell you, this game sure packs a chilling atmosphere!
