New Steam Roguelike is a Big Hit

The indie game *Megabonk* has quickly become popular on Steam, selling over one million copies in just two weeks. The game’s creator, Vedinad, announced the achievement online and mentioned that they are still working on updates to fix any bugs or issues players are experiencing.

I’m totally hooked on this new game, *Megabonk*! It just came out on September 18th, but it’s already blown up on Steam. It’s a roguelike, and honestly, if you like *Vampire Survivors*, you’ll probably love this. The basic idea is you fight off endless waves of enemies, leveling up and grabbing new weapons to survive as long as possible. While *Vampire Survivors* has that retro pixel look, *Megabonk* is fully 3D, but it has this cool, nostalgic vibe that reminds me of games from the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 days. And people are *loving* it – it’s got a 94% positive rating on Steam! It even hit over 117,000 players the first weekend of October, which is amazing.

Megabonk Has Sold Over A Million Units On Steam In Just Two Weeks

Okay, so *Megabonk* is still super popular on Steam, which is awesome! The devs at Vedinad just announced that the game has already sold over a million copies in just two weeks – crazy, right? They’re celebrating by, and I quote, “eating spaghetti with extra sauce!” But don’t worry, they’re not stopping development. They’re taking a little breather first, but then they’re going to jump back in to polish things up and add even more content. They also want to put together a roadmap so we all know what to expect in future updates, though they haven’t said when those will be released yet.

Vedinad announced that an update for *Megabonk* planned for this week will fix problems with the leaderboard caused by cheating. Players responded by praising Vedinad for *Megabonk*’s success and saying he should take all the time he needs to perfect it. The game’s success is particularly impressive considering it was originally meant to release on September 4th, but was delayed two weeks because of the release of *Hollow Knight: Silksong*. *Megabonk* also launched just a week before another popular roguelike game, *Hades 2*.

Even though it launched between two other very popular indie games, *Megabonk* still managed to sell a million copies in just two weeks – that’s a fantastic achievement! Now that more people are discovering *Megabonk*, everyone is curious to see what the developers, Vedinad, have planned for the game’s future on Steam.
