Becrowned is a new survival horror game clearly inspired by the classic Silent Hill series. While it captures the same unsettling atmosphere and gameplay style, it sets itself apart with a unique setting and a greater emphasis on how the game world responds to the player’s actions and decisions.
Becrowned, the first game from indie developer 13th Street Studio, was originally revealed in December 2023. It’s a surreal survival horror game where your greatest fears manifest into reality. With its focus on psychology, third-person gameplay, and atmospheric, foggy settings, it strongly resembles the classic game Silent Hill. According to 13th Street Studio CEO Ernest Anpilov, the game has been in development since mid-2021.
Becrowned Gets New Demo and Gameplay Trailer
A new demo for Becrowned was released on Steam in late October 2025. This is the second demo for the game, following one released in September 2024. Unlike the first demo, which showcased a more complete section of the game, this new version lets players experience the very beginning. According to 13th Street, this updated demo—and the game’s opening—does a better job of highlighting what makes Becrowned stand out, especially compared to the earlier trial.

The game boasts a huge number of decisions that impact the lives of characters you meet as you explore its disturbing setting. Along with a story that doesn’t follow a straight path and multiple different endings, Becrowned aims to be a survival horror game you’ll want to play again and again.
Becrowned May Arrive in 2026
In the game Becrowned, players will follow Richard Torrace, a calculating man on a quest for happiness. This journey will take him to a bleak and suffering world where he must face his past to shape his future. Visually, Becrowned is designed like a modern Silent Hill game, taking place primarily in and around a castle. Currently, the game is confirmed to be releasing on PC. While there’s no official release date yet, after over four years in development, a launch seems likely. The game’s Steam page has indicated it’s “coming soon” since late September 2025, suggesting a 2026 release is a reasonable expectation.
Original Becrowned Demo Still Available on Steam
If you’d like to play the original Becrowned demo, you can still access it by switching to the beta branch in Steam. You’ll need the password “OLDDEMO12345” to do so. To find the beta options, right-click the game in your Steam library, choose ‘Properties’, and then go to the ‘Beta’ tab.
