The pixel-art action game titled “Terminator 2D: No Fate“, produced by Bitmap Bureau, has been pushed back to October 31 for release. This game takes inspiration from the second film in the franchise and showcases well-known characters such as Sarah Connor and John Connor.
Back in February 2025, Bitmap Bureau unveiled the upcoming game “No Fate” with an exciting sneak peek trailer. The gameplay appears to draw heavily from iconic games such as Contra, Shinobi, and Metal Slug, but with several innovative twists. In terms of story, No Fate seems to be a blend of Terminator 2’s plotline along with some unheard narratives. Players can expect to traverse the journeys of T-800, Sarah Connor, and John Connor across various timelines. Originally slated for release on most contemporary gaming platforms on September 5, Terminator 2D: No Fate now seems to require a slight delay in its launch, much to the disappointment of side-scrolling game enthusiasts.
According to a tweet from the developer, the release date for “Terminator 2D: No Fate” has been moved to October 31. The delay is primarily due to the labor-intensive process of preparing the game’s physical editions, and the publisher wants both physical and digital versions to be released at the same time. Although the game already looks quite finished, Bitmap Bureau intends to use the additional time to make further improvements to the mechanics and graphics in order to ensure that the final product is flawless.
Terminator 2D: No Fate’s Delay Could Be Good News for Fans
As a passionate gamer, I’ve become all too familiar with delays caused by technical hiccups or internal missteps. However, the delay in the release of No Fate isn’t due to such issues. The developer has clarified that this postponement is solely because the physical copies won’t be ready on time. This means the development team isn’t racing against the clock or falling behind schedule. Rather, they now have the luxury of extra time to polish the game even further, aiming to deliver the pulse-pounding, run-and-gun gameplay that Terminator fans rightfully expect.

The upcoming October gaming lineup is brimming with highly-anticipated games such as “Ghost of Yotei”, “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, “Ninja Gaiden 4”, and “The Outer Worlds 2”. However, the sales for “Terminator 2D: No Fate”, a niche game, are unlikely to be affected due to its unique nature that doesn’t necessitate widespread popularity. This freedom from mainstream pressure allows the developers to concentrate solely on crafting an exceptional gaming experience.
Apart from “No Fate,” fans of the franchise also have “Terminator: Survivors” to anticipate. This upcoming game is an open-world survival title set in a post-apocalyptic landscape following the occurrence of “Judgment Day.” Unlike “Terminator 2D: No Fate,” the release date for this open-world adaptation has not been confirmed, but it’s expected to come out around 2025.
