New Warzone Map Confirmed To Be ‘Area 99’

As an ardent gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming reveal of ‘Area 99’ for Warzone has me buzzing like a caged hornet! Ever since the whispers started circulating about this map, I’ve been eagerly awaiting its arrival. The fact that it’ll be unveiled in full at Call of Duty: Next is just the cherry on top.

It’s been officially revealed that the compact Warzone map designed for the Resurgence mode is named ‘Area 99’. This confirmation supports earlier speculations regarding the map’s name, although details about the map itself are still scarce.

As a hardcore gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the rumors about Area 99. Back in June, some insiders hinted that it might drop during Black Ops 6’s gameplay, but we never had a definitive release date pinned down.

Next week, we’re all set to gather for an exclusive viewing of the comprehensive showcase of Call of Duty: Next. This event will unveil all the upcoming content within the Call of Duty universe. We’ll get a detailed insight into Black Ops 6, and also catch glimpses of other titles such as Call of Duty Mobile, along with competitive aspects like the Call of Duty League.

According to a tweet from CharlieIntel, the complete map will be unveiled during Call of Duty: Next, an event offering live gameplay and a detailed exploration of the map’s unique aspects together with developers at Raven Software.

More recently, Activision announced their plans to split Call of Duty Warzone from the main Call of Duty platform, operating it independently to reduce the size of installations.

There’s a strong case made that smaller Warzone maps attract more players than their larger counterparts. Given this, it’s reasonable to expect this map to do well, but we’ll have a clearer picture after Call of Duty: Next event on August 28.
