The upcoming set in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is preparing to unveil a duo of new cards that could significantly alter the game’s dynamics. With the mobile version witnessing an array of various decks ruling the roost in its online battle arenas, showcasing many formidable Pokemon, cards such as Celebi ex, Articuno ex, and Sylveon ex have been instrumental in shaping the competitive landscape for the mobile trading card game. Now, it appears that the next set of Pokemon TCG Pocket could introduce another potent pair of Pokemon to the game.
Last week, the latest expansion for the mobile version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, titled “Wisdom of Sea and Sky,” was officially revealed. This exciting new set will transport players to the Johto region, where they can expect to encounter cards for several Pokémon that originally appeared in Pokémon Gold and Silver, such as Umbreon, Espeon, and Cleffa. Additionally, the game will introduce trainer cards based in Johto, including a Supporter Trainer card featuring Lyra. The cover cards of this set may potentially disrupt the current meta of the Pokémon TCG Pocket.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the latest Pokémon TCG Pocket set, as it introduces a duo of cover cards that could potentially shake things up significantly upon release! Lugia ex boasts a single attack, Elemental Blast, which unleashes a whopping 180 damage at the expense of discarding Water, Fire, and Lightning Energy linked to it. In contrast, Ho-Oh ex requires merely 3 Colorless Energy to activate its Phoenix Turbo attack, enabling it to attach the same trio of Energy types. The two legendary birds will be able to collaborate effectively, with Ho-Oh ex possessing the ability to continuously replenish Energy for Lugia.
Lugia ex and Ho-Oh ex Might Break Pokemon TCG Pocket
Lugia ex
- 150 HP
- Weakness: Electric
- Retreat Cost: 2
- Elemental Blast (F-W-L): 180 Damage, Discard a Fire, Water, and Lightning Energy from this Pokemon.
Ho-Oh ex
- 150 HP
- Weakness: Electric
- Retreat Cost: 2
- Phoenix Turbo (C-C-C): 90 Damage, Take a Fire, Water, and Lightning Energy from your Energy Zone and attach them to your Benched Basic Pokemon in any way you like.
In the latest version of Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, the new cover cards seem to establish a very efficient resource loop for players utilizing the Johto birds. Ho-Oh’s Phoenix Turbo attack can potentially be activated as early as Turn 3, enabling players to fortify Lugia for massive damage strikes. The 180 damage inflicted by Lugia’s Elemental Blast is substantial enough to defeat any Pokemon currently found in Pokemon TCG Pocket with a single hit. The “Wisdom of Sea and Sky” expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket will be formally introduced later this week on July 30.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket appears set to bring even more thrilling content post its latest expansion. Starting on the same day as the release of Wisdom of Sea and Sky, TCG Pocket will revamp its trading system, getting rid of the controversial trade tokens from play. Additionally, a new wishlist function is being introduced with the update, enabling players to mark specific cards they desire in the trading system. The July 30 update for Pokemon TCG Pocket seems poised to redefine the game’s competitive landscape while making numerous beneficial adjustments.
