As a veteran gamer with countless hours spent on various MMORPGs, I can confidently say that the Nightveil Hallow Event in New World: Aeternum is a treasure trove for players like us. The rewards on offer are simply irresistible, and I’m already marking my calendar for October 22, 2024.

Every October, I find myself immersed in the spooky world of New World: Aeternum for their annual Halloween event called Nightveil Hallow. During this fortnight of fun, I stroll around with my pumpkin pouch, gathering tantalizing treats by joining in on the festivities.

In this manual, you’ll learn about all aspects of the upcoming event, including commencing the primary mission and defeating the event’s challenging bosses. Remember to don your finest attire and select your favorite weaponry, for we are about to vanquish some malevolent spirits!

How To Start The Nightveil Hallow Event In New World: Aeternum

To initiate the Nightveil Hallow Quest in New World: Aeternum, players should head towards the central zones of each primary city, keep an eye out for a Simmering Witch’s Cauldron accompanied by a mysterious character known as Salvatore. This special NPC oversees the event and its prize store.

This mission can be repeated, allowing players to complete it numerous times and encounter Baalphazu daily. As they progress, they will build up Reputation for this Event.

Speak with Salvatore, opt for starting a new quest, specifically Baalphazu’s Descent. This quest requires players to locate and defeat Baalphazu, a formidable World Boss. Defeating Baalphazu grants Event reputation and eventually unlocks exclusive items in Salvatore’s store. However, before reaping the rewards, players must first find and slay the monster. So, let’s discuss strategies for battling Baalphazu and complete the quest details next.

How To Complete Baalphazu’s Fall In New World: Aeternum

During the fight, Baalphazu will use the following attacks:

  • Circle of Vaccum: Sporadically, the Boss will channel a green circle that will expand. Players in the furthest circle (often Range attackers) will be pulled in, damaged, and stunned.
  • Branch Attack: Blockable simple attack, stay in the back of the boss to dodge it, or use a shield or Two-Handed Weapon to block it. Note: Cannot be parried with the Rapier’s ability.
  • Branch Smite: Baalphazu will yelp “I Will Destroy You,” and perform an unblockable area strike that will cause a lot of damage, dodge or stay away from it.
  • Teleport: Baalphazu can randomly teleport between the corners of the Arena, if left unchecked, it will lose aggro and reset, so watch out for that.
  • Summon Pumpkinites, Gourdspewer, Calabashers: Baalphazul will summon adds frequently. Pumpkinites explode and cause Pumpkin Fall in small areas when killed. Gourdspewers and Calabashers drop a small healing AoE when killed, and players need to take advantage of this to survive the fight.
  • Pumpkin Fall: After each Pumpkinite summoned is killed, Baalphazu will summon a rain of AoE damaging pumpkins that players need to dodge or take moderate damage. There’s no way to block this attack, and players should stay away from it. After the Pumpkins fall, they will remain in the floor, so players can pick them up and throw them to Baalphazu to stun him.

For ranged DPS players, it’s wise to maintain distance from the boss to avoid direct confrontation. On the other hand, melee combatants should position themselves behind the boss, allowing tankier players to attract its attention and guide it while they deal damage. Be mindful of the Pumpkinite explosion and avoid it. Once you come across the dropped heads, gather them and hurl them at the boss to stun him briefly, providing a short window for everyone to attack him more effectively.

Be vigilant to avoid Branch Smite and Pumpkin Fall assaults as they can inflict heavy damage that can’t be defended against. Conserve your energy, and don’t hesitate to withdraw if your health dips below 50% so other tanks can step in. Remember, it’s a community event, so teamwork is key!

Healers should constantly stay vigilant for Pumpkinites and try to avoid them as much as possible. Continue to use area healing abilities and aim them at the vicinity of the boss, since other players will greatly benefit from this during the boss fight. Don’t concern yourself with contributions; all rewards are guaranteed, but players must stay within the battle arena to claim them, so make sure you don’t get killed.

After Baalphazu perishes, a treasure chest along with various other rewards such as experience points, coins, azoth, and perhaps a couple of eerie costumes will appear. Now, armed with Baalphazu’s Ichor, make your way back to Salvatore’s cauldron, interact with it to complete the Quest and claim your hard-earned rewards.

How To Get More Nightveil Hallow Caches In New World: Aeternum

Every time players complete the Daily Quest Baalphazu’s Fall, they will receive a Nightveil Hallow Cache, but there are other ways to receive one:
