New Xbox Controller Leak Gels With Previous Documents

A recent social media post by eXtas1s has revealed fresh hints about the supposed ‘new Xbox controller’. These clues align well with the ‘Sebile’ controller that was previously leaked from Microsoft documents during the FTC investigation around two years ago. At the very least, this new information confirms that the controller is still in development.

According to a recent post by eXtas1s, dataminers have discovered mentions of the ‘Sebile’ controller in newly leaked XCloud files. Earlier assumptions were that this upgraded, next-gen controller would debut alongside the upcoming console, but fresh findings hint at an earlier release date.

What is Sebile?

In September 2023, the FTC vs. Microsoft court case brought a wave of public disclosure, shedding light on various Xbox hardware and accessory plans. One such device that got a full reveal was ‘Sebile’, more famously known as ‘the next-gen Xbox controller’ by Microsoft themselves.

In the past, the documents indicated that it would come with a ‘wake-up-on-lift’ function, enhanced tactile feedback, improved ergonomics, and a built-in rechargeable power source as a standard feature. It was also highlighted that it would offer effortless connectivity options, easier repair and disassembly accessibility, and a motion sensor (accelerometer) for added functionality.

Recently, I stumbled upon some intriguing findings in a series of leaked XCloud files. Just as eXtas1s had mentioned in their latest social media post, certain key features were referenced within these files.

  • Codenames: Sebile_Delgado, Sebile_EV1B, Actium_Duet, Actium_EVO

EXtas1s expands on the codenames by reiterating the proposed technical specification:

Equipped with enhanced tactile feedback, reminiscent of the DualSense controller. Bid farewell to disposable batteries as it now boasts a rechargeable power source. Wave your hand to activate the controller. This feature is part of our console’s modernization process.

Despite the tech specifications appearing to only reinforce prior knowledge, the contemporary usage of codenames within the XCloud documents offers a fresh perspective and essentially hints that Microsoft continues to develop Project Sebile.
