LEGO has announced a new set called Love Birds, part of their Ideas series. This 750-piece model is designed to be displayed and will be available in early 2026. With its romantic theme and moderately difficult build, it’s likely to be a popular gift for Valentine’s Day.

As a LEGO and movie lover, I’ve noticed LEGO has dipped its toes into romance with some sets over the years, but they haven’t always felt like perfect Valentine’s Day gifts. Their newest one, the Valentine’s Day Box (40759) which came out in January 2025, is a cute heart-shaped box of chocolates, but it’s pretty basic – only 172 pieces – and seems more geared towards kids than adult LEGO builders like myself.

‘Love Birds’ 21365 LEGO Ideas Set Officially Announced

As a LEGO fan, I was excited to see the announcement of the 21365 Love Birds set! It’s a beautiful display piece with 750 pieces, and it’s definitely aimed at adult builders – LEGO rates it for ages 18+. This set actually started as a winning design from a Valentine’s Day 2025 contest called “Build from the Heart” – Micah Longden came up with the original concept. Then, LEGO’s David Guedes refined it into the set we’re getting. You can pre-order it directly from LEGO now for $49.99, and it’s expected to be released on January 1, 2026. It seems like a really sweet gift idea!

LEGO Love Birds Form a Heart When Posed Together

This new LEGO set features a beautiful flowering tree branch with two coral-pink lovebirds perched on it. You can display it in several ways, including positioning the birds so their outlines form a heart when viewed from the back – a sweet detail that adds to its charm. Its size, 8.5″ x 12″ x 6.5″, is perfect for fitting on most shelves or tables. The set’s theme and name are similar to the LEGO Valentine Lovebirds set released in 2022, but this new version, 21365 Love Birds, is a more challenging and detailed build designed for adult LEGO enthusiasts, making it a great Valentine’s Day gift. The previous set was smaller, with only 298 pieces and was recommended for ages 8 and up.

How long the Love Birds set stays in stores will likely depend on how well it sells. If it doesn’t sell well, it could be discontinued in about six months – similar to what happened with the Valentine’s Day Box.
