Nikita Trolls Escape from Tarkov Players with PAY2WIN Reward Code

Nikita Buyanov, the lead at Battlestate Games, playfully teased the Escape from Tarkov community by sharing a code named ‘PAY2WIN’. He posted a picture of highly sought-after in-game items, hinting that the code would allow players to acquire them, sparking excitement and a bit of playful frustration among fans.

The new code was released with a playful hint suggesting a ‘pay-to-win’ advantage. But players soon discovered it was a joke – the code didn’t offer any real benefit at all!

PAY2WIN Was a Joke All Along

Nikita Buyanov hinted at something big coming to Escape from Tarkov, leading players to expect a large amount of in-game items.

The image featured items like a FLIR thermal camera, an Altyn helmet, a large amount of Bitcoin, and a substantial phone case. Soon after, Nikita shared the code “PAY2WIN,” which players immediately used to unlock something in the game’s launcher.

The package turned out to be one of the most disappointing collections of items you could receive in Escape from Tarkov.

This collection features some truly unhelpful items, like the TOZ and Blicky pistols, a tiny backpack, a bag of croutons, a fuze without a grenade to use it with, and just a fake helmet. It’s hard to imagine a less useful set of gear.

The team behind Escape from Tarkov doesn’t usually make jokes like this, but they’ve been surprisingly generous lately, handing out a lot of in-game rewards with new codes.

It’s often pointed out that ‘free is free’, but perhaps this bundle isn’t even worth anything!
